Biography
Coming from the suburbs of Paris (France), Orakle started back in the year 1994, as a trio made of three 14 yo friends: Clevdh (drums), Achernar (vocals, bass, synths) & Crys (guitars). Being young fans of thrash / death metal (Metallica, Sepultura, SUP, Death?) but in parallel discovering the Norwegian Black Metal scene with bands like Emperor, Mayhem, Burzum or Darkthrone, the band recruited guitarist Harmst (aka Toxic H. from Arkhon Infaustus), recorded two demo-tapes (Painful Exit and The Final Release), then split up in 1998 due to instability within the line-up, to finally come back as a trio in 1999 with the demo-CD Neath The Rapture Streams. Patiently developing their skills and the band's musical direction in order to find their own path and sound, Clevdh and Achernar gave birth to the MCD L'Ineffable Emoi... De Ce Qui Existe in 2002, featuring strong atmospheres connected to nature contemplation, more experimental parts and lyrics written in French. They parted ways with Crys at the end of the recordings.
Amar Ru (guitars) joined Orakle in the spring of 2002. With the aim to record their first album two years later, the band started to write new songs, drawing attention from the young label Melancholia Records. A deal was made and the band went in studio to record Uni Aux Cimes in the fall of 2004. The album was released a few months later, immediately hailed as a majestic and inspired piece of Black Metal, sometimes compared to bands like Emperor, Borknagar or Arcturus.
After having handled the session guitar during several shows, Eithenn joined the band in 2007. A slow and more than ever personal song-writing gave birth to the second full-length album, once again in an epic, sophisticated style, yet blended with more experimentations, avant-garde parts and ambiances. The potential announced by the new songs seduced the famous label Holy Records, signing a deal for the next two albums. After having fully rehearsed and pre-produced the songs, the band went back in studio in February 2008 to record their Tourments & Perdition, featuring 7 songs of dark, progressive, emotional and challenging black-metal. With the addition of Emmanuel R. (keyboards), Orakle performs at various venues and festivals, culminating in June 2009 with a show at Hellfest. In September 2010, guitarist Amar Ru decides to part ways with the band.
Seven years after Tourments & Perdition, Orakle signs with [b)Apathia Records[/b] and is ready to release their new album Éclats in May 2015.
