Biography

It was this powerful quote from Ingmar Bergman's 1957 movie Det Sjunde Inseglet that Canada's Idol Of Fear was born.

Formed in 2011 by Dave and Austin after years spent of scraping together a vision and unique style. The line-up was later completed by Doug and Johnny in 2012. They are currently based out of the Barrie/Toronto area of Ontario.

Focusing on abstract, slicing melodies paired with upfront aggression and compelling vocal energy, Idol Of Fear's music stands apart in that it can, like the band's moniker, be interpreted in different ways, depending upon an individual's perception of society, the self, humankind and the universe.

Their musical approach pitches different genres of metal into the fiery pit and burns it all down into a molten ball of seething conflagration. The end result could be described as a foundation of angular black metal riffing laden with hints of death metal, rock, punk, and abstract idiosyncracies. Lyrical topics usually explore the dark subcutaneous undercurrent of life and society.

Idol Of Fear's debut full-length album, All Sights Affixed, Ablaze mixed by Jeff Wardell and mastered by Tore Stjerna at Necromorbus Studio is testament to that. A lyrical blend of perseverance, strength and exertion of the will, it is likely to leave metal fans feeling its intensity and dynamic power upon first listen.

The new album, clocking in at an intense 44 minutes of cutting-edge metallic sounds, was independently released by the band on November 18th, 2014.

Undefinable and undeniable, Idol Of Fear is destructive, creative freedom.
