Amon Amarth - New Video Posted Online

Swedish death metallers Amon Amarth's new video of the song 'Runes To My Memory' has been posted online, here (Windows Media required). The track comes off the Swedish metallers' latest album, "With Oden On Our Side", which was issued through Metal Blade Records on 25 September 2006 in the following formats: limited-edition red vinyl LP, standard CD, limited-edition two-CD digipack, and standard LP.

As previously reported, the last three shows of the European tour in Scandinavia got cancelled since Amon Amarth got the chance to support Children Of Bodom in the U.S. - an opportunity they simply couldn't miss. Amon Amarth fans all over Scandinavia shouldn't be too sad though - the band will play a much more extensive leg in Scandinavia in early 2007!

Amon Amarth - Cancels Scandinavian Shows

Amon Amarth has posted the following message on their official web site:

"We have been offered to join Children Of Bodom on their North American tour in December and therefore we have been forced to postpone the Scandinavian leg of our headlining tour.
Of course this is not a perfect scenario for us, as we hate to pospone shows and were really looking forward to playing in Gothenburg, Oslo and Stockholm. However, we will do an extended Scandinavian tour in Jan - Feb, dates and venues will be announced soon.
We are also working on other countries that have been left out from the November European tour for early next year."

Discs 2 and 3 feature professionally filmed shows from Summer Breeze 2005, the Metal Blade Rrroooaaarrr 2005 (a show with a really unusual setlist!), Wacken Open Air 2004 and the release show for "Fate of Norns" in Ludwigsburg (Germany) in 2004.

Amon Amarth - To Start Mixing New Album; First Track Names Revealed

Swedish Death Metallers Amon Amarth have been in Fascination Street studios in Sweden since May recording their 6th full length album. The recording is all done now though and the band have started the mixing process. Nine tracks have been recorded so far. The album doesn't have a name yet, but three track names have been revealed. These titles are: 'Valhall Awaits Me', 'Hermod's Ride To Hel (Loke's Trechery Part I)' and 'Runes To My Memory'.

Here is a statement from the band on their official website: "Finally after five very long - but productive - weeks all recording is done and today we started mixing the album. Nine tracks have been successfully recorded - no thanks to the huge ammount of alcohol consumed, but none the less successfully". More track titles will be revealed shortly.

In other Amon Amarth news, the band's record company Metal Blade has posted the video clip to Fate Of Norns from the recently released 'Wrath of the Norsemen' DVD online.

Download it here: http://www.metalblade.de/videos/amonamarth/AmonAmarth_FateOfNorns.wmv or just click on the link on Amon Amarth's official website.

Amon Amarth - Studio Update

Swedish Viking metallers AMON AMARTH have started recordings for their sixth full length album at Fascination Street studio (OPETH, SOILWORK - www.fascinationstreet.se) in their home country Sweden. The band have posted the following studio report at their official website:

"Around noon (yesterday - May 23rd) Ted (Lundström) finished all bass lines and added another level of heaviness to the production and, just to show his appearance, Thor brought on a little thunderstorm yesterday. It changed our bbq plans for the evening a bit, but we don't mind. Next up is Johan (Hegg) adding his powerful grunts. We have divided the vocals recording into two sessions so we will start with two or three days first. After that we take five days to lay down lead guitars and will continue with the vocals after that. This to make it easier for Johan's voice to last, since screaming 8-10 hours straight per day is not the easiest task!"

Amon Amarth's as-yet-untitled album is scheduled for release mid to end of September.

Amon Amarth are gearing up for their return to North America, the band sent this message out to fans:

"Alright, just a week left until we head out on tour again! Starting with two off shows half-way; on Iceland. It was hard to put a set together with the time limit we have (30 min) but it is a deadly intense set! It's going to be cool to come back to North American soil again after two years and we look forward touring with Children of Bodom and Trivium. It's going to be an awesome ride with many of the shows already sold out! Remember to be there early since we're first up to play!"
