Amoral - New Vocalist Announced
Finnish metallers Amoral have issued the following update:
"Amoral is a five-piece again! Since the announcement of Niko Kalliojärvi's leaving we've received tons of applications from singers all over the world. As we mentioned earlier, we wanted to find a guy who was not only able to handle the growling of the old songs, but who also had a strong melodic voice. Well, little did we know that we'd end up with one of the most talented vocalists around! Ari Koivunen's merits as a singer are well known (at least here in Finland), but it might surprise a lot of people that the dude can also growl with the best of them! And the fact remains that he truly was the strongest candidate from all those who applied for the job.
Being the sneaky bastards that we are, we have been writing and practising hard for a long while now while keeping low profile, and we're happy to announce that the material for the 4th Amoral album is just about ready! The recording will start next month and will go on through January. The album should be out before the summer. Of course, we'll keep you guys posted on updates.
Now, before some of you oldschool Amoral maniacs condemn us to hell: No, we're not going power metal on your asses. The trademark riffs are still there. The little quirkiness. The "fuck everybody" attitude. And most importantly, the songs are just as strong as you've come to expect from us. Stronger, actually. You could clearly see on Reptile Ride already that we were eager to push our music to a more melodic direction, and the next natural step was to go all the way with the vocals. This is a new beginning for us, and we truly believe our best work is still ahead of us."
The band adds: "Those of you who are not familiar with Ari's work yet, check out his MySpace site."

Amoral - Working On New Material
Finnish metallers Amoral have posted the following message:
"Just a quick update on what's going on in the Amoral world... we're hard at work on the material for the fourth album, with a few songs ready and a bunch more in the works. So far so good! The songs are coming to us pretty easily and we're very happy with them, hopefully you guys will be too.
As for the singer situation, we've received tons of applications from singers all over the world. We've listened to each and every one of you, and now have a couple of strong candidates. Hopefully we'll be able to make the important announcement in the near future. Thanks for everyone who applied for the job, it was nice to see so many interested in joining this band!"
Vocalist Niko Kalliojärvi recently announced his departure from Amoral in order to focus on other projects. He made his final appearance with the band at the Thrashia Läpi Yön festival at Tammela, Finland on August 23.

Amoral - Parts Ways With Singer
Finnish metallers Amoral have issued the following update:
"We are sad to inform you that Niko is leaving Amoral. A while ago he sat us down and told us that he's having serious motivation problems and feels like it's time to do other things. We were in shock, as none of us saw this coming. We were sure Niko was enjoying the ride just as much as we were. We tried reasoning with him, even offering him a year-long break to do whatever else he feels like he needs to do, but quickly realized he had already made his mind.
Of course we were devastated at first. Niko was just as crucial part of the band as the rest of us, and also our frontman, the voice of the band. Was this the end of Amoral? The rest of us discussed this and were happy to see that we all felt that there's no way we're stopping now. We've worked too hard to get where we are, and we enjoy playing together, so why would we give it all up? We decided to look at the bright side of the situation: this would be our chance to pursue in a more melodic direction, something we've wanted for a long time but weren't able to do with Niko. This shouldn't come as a surprise for you who've been following our doings. The "rock n' roll vibe" has been present in our live shows and songs since our second album Decrowning, and especially on the last album Reptile Ride, which had some melodic vocals and a lot of stuff not suitable under the "technical death metal" -tag we've had on us…
We'll leave it to Niko to explain his decision more specifically. Niko, good luck with whatever it is you decide to do in the future. It was a pleasure having you in the band, and you'll always be "one of us", just like your Amoral tattoo suggests.
Niko's last gig with us will be at the "Thrashia Läpi Yön" - festival at Tammela, Finland on August 23rd. After this we'll take a long break from gigs, and start writing the 4th Amoral album. We already have a lot of material to work on, even a couple of songs 99% ready, and we're hyped about how these sound! No release dates or any kind of deadlines have been decided on, as we wanna get this just right."

Amoral - New Bassist Announced
Finnish metallers Amoral have issued the following update on their website:
"We are more than happy to welcome Pekka Johansson to the band as our new bass player! Pekka has been helping us out with our recent live duties, and the vibe's been great both on and off stage. The dude's a great bassist, has a killer stage presence and is good company, so we quickly realized we'd need to look no further.
Pekka will be joining the official Amoral forum soon, so you can all pick his brain over there and ask him anything you wanna know..."
