While Communic haven't released a new album in a while, the progressive metallers will be celebrating their past this year. They are playing a 10th anniversary concert at Buen, Mandal, Norway on December 5th. It is now 10 years since the trio released their debut album Conspiracy In Mind. To celebrate this event with a special concert on December 5th 2015, the band will be accompanied by several guests who join them on stage and will make the concert something special. This will be a close to 2 hours long concert in their hometown of Mandal, Norway.

The Norwegian metallers from Communic are back with their new album The Bottom Deep which is simply breath-taking! The music of the exceptional band from Norway includes many elements from various metal genres. Guitarist and band mastermind Oddleif Stensland commented the new stuff: "Writing and recording this album has been an amazing - but strange experience. This time we took control over the production ourself, resulting in a more honest and organic sounding album. Never before have I put so much of my own personal influence and privacy into the lyrics and songs as this time. Right now I have a mixed feeling of fear and total excitement as we release the artwork and track listing for this new album. Now there is no return. To open myself this way, exposing my deepest and inner thoughts, in a way I have never done before. Its kinda strange, as it feels like these words and songs came from a part of me that I didn't know about. This is The Bottom Deep. This is the album that I never in my life thought I had to write - but now I know, this will be a totem in my life - forever!"

Dan Swanö did the mastering on this album, he said: "It was pure pleasure to work with these guys. The mix was excellent to start with, so I finally had the opportunity to work with gentle strokes rather than the big roller that I sometimes have to use to shape-up not-so-good mixes. Musically I enjoyed it very much. It's not easy to label their music (which is good). If I had to mention something, I get that amazing "epic" vibe of Queensrÿche 84-88. They definitely add something to the family of progressive metal"

Eliran Kantor made the artwork for the album: "The first draft of the lyrics from Oddleif made it clear that this is going to be a very personal, dark and vulnerable record - and I wanted the cover to reflect that. The vulture, nature's version of the grim reaper, caresses the dying man, casting a shadow reveling its true intentions and reason for this last visit. I put alot of myself into this artwork, and I think it turned out great"

Norwegian metallers Communic are currently preparing the final writing details for their follow-up to 2008's Payment Of Existence. The band is planning to start the recording process early 2011. The band is hoping for a June 2011 release.

Comments guitarist/vocalist Oddleif Stensland: "I am really excited about this new material that we have put together for this new album. There is still some work left, but we are getting closer. I think the heaviness of these songs will surprise many of you, and the overall feeling of it, is way darker this time. The songs are shorter, more in your face and may seem straight forward at first, but there are many twists and turns that will just creep under your skin. This album is DEEP!

I know that many of you have been waiting for this album for a long time already, but everything has its time, and the time is now. Never before have I left so much of "myself" in our songs - never before has the price been so high - this album will be really special".

Guitarist and vocalist Oddleif Stensland has written the following album update on the band's myspace page:

Finally, the mixing of the new album is done, and the master has been sent to our record company Nuclear Blast. Hopefully they will like what we have been working on, cause they have not a single clue on what this album contains, as they have not previewed any demos or anything prior to entering the studio, until the master drops on their office table. But we have tons of confident and this is some of the most insane work we have ever done. The guitar and drums sounds fantastic, and Tor-Atle is playing his best stuff ever, Erik's bass lines are more in your face than it has been before and my vocals has never been as varied as this before. We have no clue on what you guys out there will think of this new material, or what the magazines will have to say about it, but we know it will be hard to top the reviews and sound check positions from "Waves of Visual Decay", because they were so raving all over, so it will be exiting to follow the coming months of promotion.

We have also received a preview of the album artwork and it is simply amazing, and fits the theme and atmosphere that this album withholds, it will be shown here as soon as we are able to release it, along with the title of the album and the complete track list.

I have said earlier that the album would contain shorter songs but I guess that was a tiny lie, as most of the songs clocks in over 8 minutes. One on 7, one over 9, while two on 6. Well that's Communic I guess!
