Anubis Gate - Enter The Studio In July

Danish metallers Anubis Gate have issued the following update:

"This summer will indeed be far from inactive in the Anubis Gate camp! We will start recording the drums at Hansen Studios early July, and after the drums have been tracked, guitars, keyboards and bass will be recorded at Kim Olesen's studio.

Jacob Hansen's vocals will be done at Hansen Studios, and Henrik Fevre's vocals + backing will be done at his own studio. The mix will be done mid August at Hansen Studios.

Locomotive will release the album February 2009.

All the songs have been written and lyrics are being completed as we write this.

We feel very strong about the new songs, that very much are following the lines of Andromeda Unchained, although with a twist. There's a feeling that some of the newer songs will be heavier, leaning a bit towards the hard riffage from "A Perfect Forever", as well as there are some new elements and surpising twists to the Anubis Gate sound. Every one of us is anxious to get started!

Stay tuned for a detailed studio report starting the 30th of June!"

Kreator - Enter The Studio In July

German metallers Kreator have issued the following update:

"Kreator will enter the Titonus studios in Berlin on July 20th to record the highly anticipated follow up to their 2005 release "Enemy Of God".

For the yet untitled album the band will be working with German top producer Moses Schneider.

"The pre-production in our rehearsal studios went really smooth" says bandleader Mille Petrozza. "Moses´s way of working with bands takes place more on an emotional then on a technical level, wich means the album will sound very raw and direct. We´re trying to capture Kreator´s live energy and will be using nice vintage analogue equipment for the recordings this time. Expect a massacre!"

The release date for the album, which will be mixed by Colin Richardson (Machine Head, Slipknot, etc) in London, will be January 2009, followed by an extensive world tour. Stay tuned for more details, a complete re launch of the Terrorzone and studio reports soon!"

Allfader - Studio Update

Norwegian black/death metallers Allfader posted the following item on their official website:

"Since the release of 'At Least We Will Die Together' in 2006 we had a period where our guitarist Per was very indifferent and not motivated to continue with the band. We didn't fire him because I go back with him quite a few years and was hoping his feelings would change. They did not, at least not fast enough. So eventually I took over his guitar duties. That's why things have been a bit slow over here. There’s no bad blood, no scandals. We’ve all moved on.

At first I was apprehensive about playing guitar while singing, but it has worked out incredibly well. Also, I feel I'm more in touch with the material when we write, and the writing process itself has been smoother than ever. We also did more shows in 2007 than the years 2001-2006 combined.

So what are we up to at the moment? Well, we're currently recording our next album. The drums are done, and right now we're focusing on guitars. We're recording eight songs for the album with a total playing time around 50 minutes. The songs sound huge and they have a bit of a different vibe (to us, at least). We're focusing on groove, dynamics and solid arrangements. Heavier, less technical guitars but some awesome drumming. I'm psyched to hear the songs come alive and I can't wait for our fans to hear this!

If we meet the necessary deadlines the album will be released by Osmose sometime in the fall. More info will come soon.

That's it for now, gotta go back to recording guitars...

-John/Allfader"

Amon Amarth - Enter The Studio

Swedish metallers Amon Amarth have issued the following update:

"On May 1st, (Labour Day here in Sweden) we enter Fascination Street Studio to start recording our seventh full-length album. We have 10 killer songs, some classic Amon Amarth tunes, some really epic moments and some of the most brutal stuff we've ever written! We are confident that this will be our best and most diverse album to date!
Jens Bogren will be producing the album, he produced "With Oden On Our Side". We're looking forward to yet another successful collaboration. We'll barricade ourselves for the next month and a half. The album will be recorded in the traditional way, starting with drums, followed by guitars, bass, and vocals.
There are plans for some cool guest appearance but nothing we can reveal just yet. We will try our best to keep you updated with vlogs, photos and a studio diary. Provided that we can tear ourselves away from the PS3, wii and of course... a healthy serving of Swedish vodka.

In other news, we've added two UK shows this summer. We're pleased to announce that we'll be appearing for the first time at this year's Download festival. We are scheduled to play second stage on Saturday, June 14th. Since we're already on Brittish soil, we figure that we might as well do some further pillaging. We will be making an appearance at Metal Hammer's Golden Gods Award show on June 16.
For a complete list of our confirmed live dates, check our upcoming shows section. "

Bloodbath - Back In The Studio For Third Full-Lenght Album

Posted on the official website on April 16th by Anders "Blakkheim" Nystrom:

"Bloodbath just spent the last week at Park Studio in Stockholm where Axe put down an (un)healthy doze of all the basic ingredients and more to get this death metal monster meal cooking in hell's oven. We're talking classic oldschool skinpounding, furious blastbeats, double bassdrums, all kinds of tempos and a heavy load of killer fills, yeah you name it? This time it turned out to be 11 brand new songs on the menu for the band's still untitled third album. So what direction does the material take this time? Well It's definately taking off where we left with "Unblessing The Purity". The material represents nothing but hateful brutality, so there's surely a lot of speed countered with heavy groove. Riff wise, we're playing a lot with dissonant harmonies for that feverish possessed feeling, but we also brought back the whole melodic yet haunting "bee-swarming" theme concept from the past albums to represent the classic sound, so there's definately gonna be a good deal of variety on here which we hope to pack together in the most crushing production yet. The recording will now be moved to engineer David Castillo's newbuilt studio where we'll put down the guitars and bass over the next month while waiting for Mike to return from his touring in June to cut the vocals before we enter mix mode. The cover artwork will once again be handled by Dusty Peterson. The album has been set for an October 6th release, but the album title, song titles, audio teasers and the coverartwork will show up during the summer. Stay tuned. Bloodbath is here to slay, Bloodbath is here to stay!"

Beneath The Massacre - Enter The Studio

Montreal's technical death metal band Beneath The Massacre have scheduled studio time for the follow up record to 2007's "Mechanics Of Dysfunction." The band will enter the studio April 25 with Yannick St-Amant (Despised Icon, Neuraxis, Martyr), who also produced Beneath The Massacre's prior full-length and the "Evidence Of Inequity" EP. Afterwards, Jason Suecof (The Black Dahlia Murder, God Forbid, Chimaira) will mix the record, which is currently slated for a fall 2008 release through Prosthetic Records.

"So we just came back from our headline tour in the US. We had a blast." Beneath The Massacre vocalist Elliot Desgagnes says. "A lot of people showed up and all the bands on the package were super cool dudes. We're now working hard on the new material that will be recorded starting in April at Yannick's studio. We can't wait to enter the studio. We'll probably be posting video and blogs to let all you guys know what's going on in studio. Stay tuned."
