Lordi - Hits The Studio

Finnish monster rockers Lordi have announced that they have "slammed into the studio with producer Nino Laurenne to record some killer new tunes", possibly for an upcoming album. If you forgot who Lordi is, they kind of "revolutionized" the Eurovision Song Contest by winning the whole thing in 2006 with their hit "Hard Rock Hallelujah".

Metallica - Announce Record Store Day Live Release, Audio Sample

As Ambassadors for this year's Record Store Day celebrating independent retail, Metallica will have a special exclusive CD release, Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité, Metallica!, live at Le Bataclan, Paris, France - June 11th, 2003. Insomnium - Studio Update

Last week, Finnish melodic metallers Insomnium hinted that they were hitting the studio, possibly to start the recording for a new album. Insomnium can now reveal that they are on their last day of recording drums in SF Sound studio. So far, they haven't given the fans any specific details about what they are recording exactly, but it seems like we have to brace ourselves for some cold, shivering tunes.

Crowbar - Enter The Studio In February

Jimmy Bain - Former Dio/Rainbow Bassist Dies

Sad news arrive today. Former Rainbow and Dio bassist, and more recently in Last In Line, Jimmy Bain has passed away at the age of 68. He was gearing up for the launch of Last In Line's debut album later this month, and the band were taking part in Def Leppard's cruising festival in the Caribbean. Currently, the exact circumstances of his death are unknown.

Pain Of Salvation - In The Studio, Update

The Swedes Pain Of Salvation are hard at work forging their new album. These are exciting times for the progressive band as they are holed up in the studio recording "heavy" and "complex" new songs. They are at Dugout Studios working with producer Daniel Bergstrand.
