Huntress - Guitarist Denies Breakup Rumors
Fans were saddened to hear that the heavy metal band Huntress was apparently calling it quits. The announcement came from frontwoman Jill Janus, who posted a short message to fans on her Facebook page. Earlier this year, she revealed her battles with not only bipolar disorder and schizophrenia, but also uterine cancer that resulted in a hysterectomy. In her post, since deleted, Janus said that due to her health concerns she was "packing it up." She cited a desire to move on and create new music "on my terms." Guitarist Blake Meahl later did some damage control and released a statement saying that they're not breaking up and the band's tour with Black Label Society in December is still happening.

Huntress - Pull Out Of Tour With Avatar
Recently, Huntress' singer Jill Janus revealed that she was diagnosed with uterine cancer and was recovering from a successful surgery at home. Unfortunately, the band will also have to step down from the tour with Avatar, Gemini Syndrome and First Decree. The heavy metallers will not be touring in September due to Jill Janus' healing from uterine cancer surgery. She is now cancer-free but the doctors have ordered one more month to properly heal. However, Huntress will join Motörhead's MotörBoat Cruise.

Singer Jill Janus of the Los Angeles traditional heavy metal band Huntress has revealed to Revolver magazine that she was recently diagnosed with uterine cancer. Janus is now cancer-free due to a hysterectomy performed two weeks ago. She is recovering from a successful surgery at home. In the same interview, she also opened up about her lifelong battle with mental illness.

American metallers Huntress have announced the release date for their new album, the follow-up to their 2012 debut full-length, Spell Eater, and unveiled its cover art. The album, entitled Starbound Beast, has been confirmed for release on June 28th in Europe and on July 2nd in North America via Napalm Records.
