Judas Priest are busy writing new material. According to an awfully short posting on the band's website, "all is going really well". Further details will be given later.

As previously announced, Judas Priest will be embarking on their farewell tour in June, hitting all the major cities throughout the world. The band will be starting their Epitaph world tour in Europe.

With all guns blazing and amps cranked to eleven, the band will be giving all their fans one last chance to witness the ultimate metal experience that is Judas Priest.

As posted today on the official Judas Priest website: Judas Priest will shortly be releasing a LIVE ALBUM consisting of eleven tracks - all previously unreleased in a live version! The album is due out in JULY 2009 and will be entitled: "Judas Priest - A Touch Of Evil - LIVE"

All of the tracks were recorded throughout the JUDAS PRIEST WORLD TOURS in 2005 and 2008. More information to follow shortly!"

As the creators of a live release that is considered to be one of the all-time great concert recordings in the realm of heavy metal (1979's "Unleashed In The East"), whenever Judas Priest announce a new live album, metalheads worldwide instantly take note. And on "A Touch of Evil: Live" (due for release in July 2009 via Sony Music and Epic Records), the mighty Priest - which includes singer Rob Halford, guitarists Glenn Tipton and KK Downing, bassist Ian Hill, and drummer Scott Travis - doesn't disappoint. The vid features witches practicing magic then being burned at the stake, a tyrannical ruler exerting fascist control, the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse storming through the sky, fire spreading across the earth, winged beasts reigning destruction and lots more imagery that would have make Hieronymus Bosch giddy with delight. Heavy metal icons Judas Priest will release the new live DVD 'Rising In the East' on November 15, 2005, via Rhino Home Video.

Vocalist Rob Halford, lead guitarists Glenn Tipton and K.K. Downing, bass guitarist Ian Hill and drummer Scott Travis filmed 'Rising In The East' in May 2005 at the legendary Budokan in Tokyo, Japan. The definitive Judas Priest lineup played two sold-out nights at the venue to promote the early-2005 release of the critically acclaimed studio album 'Angel Of Retribution,' their first new material in 15 years. 'Rising In The East' is Judas Priest's first straight-to-DVD release.

"We talked about doing a DVD on this tour and we decided to do it at the Budokan because it's a special venue. It's world-renowned. We thought it was an ideal choice," says Tipton. "We filmed both nights but we ended up using the second night only for this DVD. We wanted it to be as live and as real as possible, and when you start taking from different shows there isn't continuity. We wanted it to be one show and that's exactly what it is."

"I think what 'Rising In The East' displays to Priest fans is the first time seeing us reunited for a full-length show in the DVD format," Halford says. "I think the DVD compounds all the great things that Priest fans and metal fans all around the world love about the band. Priest is still a powerful, physical, full-on experience in the live domain.
