Marionette - New Album On The Way
Gothenburg based metal sextet Marionette recently entered Studio Fredman with producer Fredrik Nordström (In Flames, Bring Me The Horizon) to begin recording the band's as of yet-untitled third album. Guitarist and backing vocalist Aron Parmerud made the following remarks regarding the recording sessions and progress thus far:
"The recordings for our third album are underway! We spent a great deal of time after our last UK/EU tour with BLESSTHEFALL working on new songs and ended up with over 14 songs. Last month Jimmy came in and nailed each of the songs on drums and from there we began tracking the guitars and bass all at Studio Fredman in Gothenburg. Keyboard player Linus Johansson and I are working with the ambiance of the music and the keyboards. Vocalist Alexander Andersson is currently working hard on the lyrics and vocal lines. We've made some studio photos available on our Official Facebook Page.*
Fans of our Spite and more so Enemies albums will find some familiar elements in our new songs. Listeners will certainly hear contrasts between brutal and beautiful, progressive and catchy, and up-tempo and down-tempo. There are more elements that will be very new to our listeners. We're eager to perform a few of these new songs live on our upcoming "The SlaughTour 2010" dates in the UK and Denmark, and our recently confirmed shows with fellow Gothenburgers Dark Tranquillity in Sweden and Norway. So come out, see us live, and be the first to hear some new Marionette songs this October and November!"

Marionette - UK Tour Dates
Swedish metallers Marionette have issued the following update on their MySpace blog:
"We will embark on a UK headlining tour in October.
Commented bassist and founding member Mikael Medin: "UK fans get ready for some monster shows on our headlining run this October. We took three trips to the UK last year, each being better than the last. Those seeing us for the first time will get a proper evening with Marionette. In addition to extended sets, including fan favorites from Enemies And Spite, we'll play songs we haven't tried out on the road in quite some time. Fans will also see that we've worked hard to upgrade all elements of our show. We'll be announcing more shows in the coming weeks.
As we wind down the touring for Enemies And Spite and begin thinking about the next Marionette album, we are hoping to squeeze in a brand new song we are working on our new vocalist Alexander Andersson. He has not only proven to be an excellent growler, but has a belting clean voice that will floor you live. Get your tickets now and we'll see you in the mosh pit this fall!"
Annouced UK tour dates are as follows:
Oct. 06 - Southampton, UK- Joiners
Oct. 07 - Yeovil, UK - Orange Box
Oct. 10 - Wrexham, UK - Central Station
Oct. 16 - Glasgow, UK - King Tut's
Oct. 17 - London, UK - O2 Bar Academy Islington

Marionette - Two New Songs Online
Swedish metallers Marionette have posted online two new songs, "The Swine" and "Through Veils", on their MySpace page.
The two songs come off the band's forthcoming album, entitled "Enemies", which is scheduled for release on October via Listenable Records.
The band adds: "Today you get your first taste of "Enemies"; we have posted "The Swine" and "Through Veils" on our MySpace page. The songs represent the new album in a good way we think: one of them is a more heavy song while the other one is more catchy. Either way, these songs take what we did on Spite to a new level. We hope you will love these songs as much as we do.
Stay tuned for more updates as they will be frequent from here on! "Enemies" will be released in the first week of October via Listenable Records in Europe. Fans in North America and around the world stay tuned for more info on release dates."
More details about "Enemies" were previously reported at this location.

Marionette - New Album Details
Swedish metallers Marionette have set "Enemies" as the title of their forthcoming album, due in Europe in October via Listenable Records.
The album was recorded with a team of up-and-coming as well as established names in Swedish music including Pontus Hjelm (Dead By April) and two-time Swedish Grammis award winning producer and songwriter Åke Parmerud. The album was mixed and mastered by Fredrik Nordström (In Flames, At The Gates, Bring Me The Horizon) at Studio Fredman and Peter In De Betu (Dimmu Borgir, Zonaria) at Tailor Maid respectively in May 2009.
"Enemies" cover art] tracklist:
01. The Swine
02. Silver Spoon
03. Stench Of The Herd
04. Anthropomorphism
05. Unman
06. Hatelust
07. The Slaughter
08. The Lie
09. Your Hands
10. Creatures
11. Through Veils
12. Their Knives
13. The Truth
Aron Parmerud commented: "Unlike the recording process of "Spite" we recorded "Enemies" over a period of months, and we have had plenty of time to try new things in the studio to make the album absolutely insane. Every element that you heard on "Spite" has been taken to the extreme. At the same time, there is a clear evolution from "Spite" to "Enemies". All of the live experience we have had while touring has made us more skillful as individual musicians and tighter as a band. All this will reflect itself on "Enemies" when it is in your hands this fall!"
