Anaal Nathrakh definitely owned the weekend. Even more so because Dave Hunt did the show (and Benediction's) hobbling on one leg after he broke the other. Behemoth were almost as good strangely enough seeing I'm not a big fan of their recent stuff (though quite liking some older material). Probably no coincidence both these shows were at when I was my most intoxicated. Enjoyed wall of deathing and pitting for Nathrakh a lot too, not something I usually do.

Mayhem were disappointing as I expected, very bad sound and a rather limp and short set. Always nice see Attila on stage though Nile I found somewhat so-so too. Orange Goblin, Witchsorrow, Sanctuary, Cambion, Sepultura were all very enjoyable and Dimmu and Machine Head were pretty ok too, along with a few others.

Cambion were definitely the best random surprise of the weekend, especially considering they're a metalcore band, supposedly. Sounds more like groove thrash to me.



Remind me of Byzantine quite a bit.

Well I figured they're a must-see band and I do like their first few albums. They were good but I must have been pretty drunk as I can't remember much of it.

Sepultura's first 4 albums is some of my personal favorite thrash. Also among some of the first more agressive metal I got into.

Yeah it's not something I ever really advertise as I guess I don't play them that often but it's thrash I can definitely get on board with

Sepultura were my #1 set of the festival. They always seem to destroy everything live.

Yeah these guys. To be honest I saw lots of weirder people than most of these though.

The naked guy standing on top of everyone during Behemoth was one of the funniest things I have ever seen at a show...

Hahaha Dr. Rockso. That is so awesome. If I saw the guy I would definitely buy him some beer. Oh and some cocaine
