Primus - Part Ways With Drummer Tim 'Herb' Alexander
Primus just broke the news via Facebook that that longtime drummer Tim "Herb" Alexander has parted ways with the band, with Alexander himself claiming that he has "lost his passion for playing". His temporary fill-in is Danny Carey of Tool while a permanent replacement for Alexander is expected to join in time for the upcoming 'Sessanta Tour' (also featuring Puscifer and A Perfect Circle) in the spring of 2025.

Primus - Announce Summer 2024 U.S. Tour
Alternative/funk metal legends Primus just announced a spring/summer 2024 U.S. tour, with Coheed And Cambria co-headlining on most dates, and All Them Witches, Guerilla Toss, Too Many Zooz, Fishbone and Fantastic Negrito opening on separate dates; ticket details are available here. The tour will see Primus continue promoting their latest EP Conspiranoid, released back in April 2022, and the band are reportedly planning to release new music later this year or next year.

Primus - Announce 2022 'A Tribute To Kings' U.S. Tour
After completing a successful U.S. tour (where they played Rush's classic 1977 album A Farewell To Kings its entirety) and revealing that they were working on a new record, Primus have announced the second touring cycle of their 'Tribute To Kings Tour', where they will again perform the aforementioned Rush album in full. The tour will run from April through June 2022, and supporting acts include Battles, Black Mountain and The Black Angels.

Primus - Announce New Album
Primus has announced a new album, The Desaturating Seven, to be released September 29th via ATO, and have released a new track. This is the first Primus album since 1995 to feature the classic lineup of Les Claypool, Larry LeLonde, and Tim Alexander. They have also expanded their tour, and will be playing in Brooklyn on Halloween. You can stream the song "The Seven" here.

Primus - Drummer Suffers New Heart Attack
Primus' drummer Tim "Herb" Alexander continues to face health issues, suffering a new heart attack. Alexander survived the heart attack and revealed the news via his Instagram account. He says he is home now and doing well, but taking it easy. Back in 2014, Alexander had his first heart attack and was hospitalized. He missed part of Primus' touring. Eventually, he returned to the group's lineup to help in the support of their 2014 album, Primus & The Chocolate Factory With The Fungi Ensemble.

"Tragedy's A' Comin", the new song from experimental rockers Primus has debuted exclusively at SPIN.com. The song comes off of the band's upcoming seventh studio album entitled Green Naugahyde, which drops on September 13th.
Claypool had this to say about the tune: "Lyrically, this is me focusing on eventual demise or at least the notion that big rain is coming and at some point I'm going to get pretty fucking wet. Who says lemmings can't dance as they go over the cliff?"
