The Sins Of Thy Beloved - The Sins Are Alive

The following short message has been posted on a fansite of the Norwegian Symphonic Gothic Metallers of The Sins Of Thy Beloved:

"THE BEAST HAS AWAKEN!!! This is something in between a semi-offial and an official statement, and no more can be said at the moment. However, it's not unlikely that more news will be posted before next year."

In a recent interview vocalist Anita Auglend has announced her return to the band and she added that "there is hope for a long term discography". Click here for the complete interview.

The band has been dormant since the departure of three members in 2001, apart from one live gig in 2005 at the Lost Souls Halloween Festival in Kristiansand, Norway.

The Excess Of Evil - European Tour Cancelled

The following statement was posted on Enslaved's website:

"European May Tour "Excess Of Evil" Tour Cancelled At Last Minute

Enslaved is issuing this statement to regretfully inform that the "Excess of Evil" European tour w/ Marduk, Enslaved, Keep Of Kalessin, Goatwhore, Melechesh & Pantheon I this month (May 2007) is cancelled.

We are not entirely informed and convinced as to why the tour is cancelled - we were promised an immediate statement from the touring agency (Metalysee) several days ago, but nothing has arrived. At this point, with few days left for the intended tour start, we could no longer wait and we are issuing this, to be honest, half-informed statement. We are normally booked through Goldstar Music in Norway, let us stress over and over again that this tour and its demise is not their workings, this was a one-off collaboration with another booking agency.

All we know is that the tour is cancelled and that we feel disappointed, bitter and at the same time vengeful. We are disappointed because we looked forward to performing top notch shows, being part of a high class package and meeting the fans, the friends; the scene. Bitter because we were already stretched to the limit to do this tour - we were ready to go out and do minimalist shows, with a session keyboard player (as Herbrand Larsen couldn't go due to personal reasons. We feel vengeful because we know we will come back and do these shows tenfold stronger. Our booking agent Goldstar has told us they are already working on rescheduling several of the shows this coming autumn.

As always, there will be speculations as to why this happened. Again, we regret to say that this was never really "our" tour so we lack some insight into the "whys" and "whos" and "whens". We can only state that we were ready to go, no injuries, no imprisonment, no primadonna acts; none of the usual industry clichés. We have heard rumours about why the tour was cancelled, but we choose not to repeat them until an official statement is issued from Metalysee/ Marduk. We hope other sources of information (web boards, forums, magazines) will remain equally patient/ respectful for the official version.

We'll be back with more info should it appear, along with any eventual re-bookings of these shows.

A heartfelt thank you to all the people being ready for the shows in France, the UK, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Italy, Germany and Austria- we will return."

We spent seven weeks or so here five years ago, recording "Crimson Thunder", and a fortnight for the mix of "Chapter V: Unbent, Unbowed, Unbroken", so it was a great pleasure to once again walk into the arms and home of the Deris (Andi - Helloween singer) family."

Onslaught - Forced To Cancel UK Dates

Posted on the official blog on Onslaught's MySpace:

"UK Thrashers Onslaught have been forced to cancel the remaining dates of their British tour due to a serious health issue concerning vocalist Sy Keeler.
The Onslaught frontman was rushed to hospital during the soundcheck at Leeds Rios suffering from an acute loss of vision. Keeler has since undergone an emergency operation to repair a detached retina in his left eye. If it was not for this immediate procedure the doctors said he would have almost certainly lost the sight in this eye.
Following the bands announcement to the Rios crowd regarding the situation , Onslaught were taken aback by the overwhelming warmth and support showed to them by the enthusiastic audience. This compelled the band to quickly reorganise and power through a few chosen classics with guitarist Nige Rockett handling the bulk of the vocal duties. Eviles' Matt Drake also joined the band onstage to scream out a thunderous version of Shellshock
Speaking from hospital a distraught Sy Keeler expressed his sincere apologies to all the fans that were looking forward to the first leg of the 'Killing Peace' tour and is hoping to be fit enough to hit the road as soon as is humanly possible
Onslaught are currently looking into re-scheduling the cancelled dates for later in the year."

Gorefest - New Album Details

The following update has been issued by guitarist Frank Harthoorn on Gorefest's official webpage:

"Exciting times in Gorefest-land. Tue Madsen's finished mixing some of our finest songs ever, and an excellent job he did. He managed to make everything sound even heavier than we'd imagined. Which is quite a feat, actually, because boy, our imaginations can be all over the place, I'll tell ya! Anyway, I guess it's pretty obvious we're quite pleased with the whole thing and, indeed, ourselves. Now, for some even more exciting details: the title of this Headbanger's Delight will be "Rise To Ruin". Nuclear Blast will be releasing it throughout Europe on august 3rd, with a UK release following 3 days later. I have no idea why, but there you go. Details on the US release date TBA. As with our previous CD La Muerte, "Rise To Ruin" will feature some wonderful artwork by british artist Rob 'Mid' Middleton.

Tracklist is as follows:

1. Revolt
2. Rise To Ruin
3. The War On Stupidity
4. A Question Of Terror
5. Babylon's Whores
6. Speak When Spoken To
7. A Grim Charade
8. Murder Brigade
9. The End Of It All

All this excitement will culminate in an undoubtedly quivering orgasm of aural glory at a listening session which will be held at Plein 79 in Den Bosch on wednesday, may 9th. Lots of very important press will be invited for this, so to make sure there's actually some people there, I'll put the first ten fans that drop me an email on request@gorefest.nl on the list as well. Drinks are on us!"
