Poisonblack - New Album out In The Fall

The current lineup of Poisonblack ? Ville Laihiala (vocals, guitar, also in Sentenced), Janne Markus (guitar), Marco Sneck (keyboards), Antti Remes (bass) and Tarmo Kanerva (drums) ? are scheduled to return to the studio in April to complete the recordings for their sophomore album, tentatively due in August/September via Century Media Records.

Laihiala had previously stated about the new album's musical direction: "The new one has the same spirit and theme that was on , but presented with a lot more dirtier and rougher sounds without forgetting the melodies," he said. "But if you are waiting for a soft goth-rock album you'll be surprised." Several photos from the studio sessions can be viewed at this location.

Axamenta - Signed By Karmageddon Media

Hereby we proudly announce the signing of AXAMENTA to the ranks of KARMAGEDDON MEDIA.

In a previous life Axamenta was known to play Doom-, Fantasy- and even Death Metal, but after a lot of line-up changes they once more decided to make a radical shift in their musical style and began experimenting with a more technical and progressive approach. Their love for movie scores also made them replace the keyboards by orchestra samples, which gives them a unique sound in the Belgian metal scene.

In the month May Axamenta will enter the well known Hanssen Studio in Denmark for the recordings of their new album. The album will be recorded with Jacob Hanssen, known for his work with bands like Mercenary, Invocator & Aborted.

After the recordings in Denmark the band will head to Sweden for the final mix and mastering at the world famous Fredman Studio, all under supervision of producer Fredrik Nördstrom, known for his work with bands like Soilwork, In Flames & Dimmu Borgir.

A release is to be expected in the second half of 2005 !

Official statement from the band:

"We are glad to have finally found a musical homebase ! Moreover, we're very exited about Karmageddon Media, giving us the opportunity to spread our mental illness throughout the public. Expect the result of this deranged coalition in the second half of 2005 !"

Disiplin - video sample from the new album

A preview clip of DISIPLIN's video for the track "Anti-Life" has been posted online at the group's official web site.

Check it out here: http://home.no/babalon/vid/anti-life-218.wmv

The first-ever video for the Oslo-based quintet, "Anti-Life" was directed by the internationally acclaimed photographer Marcel Lelienhof and takes place in a derelict house in a boys' neighborhood.

DISIPLIN's second album, "Anti-Life" is scheduled for release mid-March via Moonfog Productions. The CD will include 11 "demonic" tracks and a "blood-curdling, unholy" bonus video for the title track.

The follow-up to the group's 2003 self-titled debut was recorded at Akkerhaugen Lydstudio and features a guest appearance by CARPATHIAN FOREST's Nattefrost (lead vocals on one track and backing vocals on a few others).

DISIPLIN is the Norwegian extreme metal act featuring former members of MYRKSKOG and EVILIZER.

The Black Dahlia Murder - New album info

We now are in the midst of our seventh song for the next record, "Miasma". This thing keeps getting bigger and better as we go. We're getting excited to record this beast.

The information I have reported below about the release of our "A Cold Blooded Epitaph" has been rendered a falsehood. We aren't exactly sure when this will be seeing the light of day, but you can expect that it will be with the next while. Guy at Blackmarket has his hands full at the second with The Red Chord's new full length (which I would rather have, personally), and we are deciding on a few last minute tweakings to the ep, to assure that that beautiful Blackmarket quality is shining through in every respect. Guy and I will be conspiring as soon as TRC has finished recording; so expect an ACTUAL release date (!) soon. Thank you guys for being so patient with this thing, and please try to refrain buying any $90 versions of the old ugly one from E-Bay. That would be just a crime. We'll post the new artwork up here in a few so you can at least check it out if you are interested.

Over and out.
Trevor

Sentenced Will Disband!!!

We'd better put this out in the open before you hear it somewhere else.

The title of the new album is "The Funeral Album", and with it we, SENTENCED, are coming to the end of our road. This album will be our last one.

The decision is mutual, thoroughly thought over and final.

Metaphorically speaking, this is a mass suicide of 5, and the new album is the kind of note we want to leave behind. One last time around for good-byes.

The decision was made during 2004. The reasons are many, and I don't feel any need to go into details here. I will say however, that everyone will walk away as friends. In my eyes we are even not splitting up, but ending our recording career together. And there is major difference between those two. Our wish was always to go out with style and at the peak of our so called success. I think with "The Funeral Album" we will do exactly that.

Once the album is released, there will be an undefined number of farewell shows. When, where and how many, those are questions that at this point remain open. Intense and long touring, however, will unfortunately not follow, and most of these shows will take place on festivals where we can reach as much people as possible at one time. At the moment it seems that all of these funeral shows will be in Europe.

If everything goes as planned, we will also make a live-DVD out of those last shows and include a lot of stuff from the past on it. Not to mention all the music-videos we have done during the years. The working title for the DVD is "Buried Alive".

After that SENTENCED is no more.

And: THIS IS IT. There will not be a re-union, come-back, or any other pathetic and soap-operish circus that seems to be in fashion these days. SENTENCED will rest in peace.

We will make the most out of the band's last year, and hope you will all join us.

See you on the last run.
/Lopakka & SENTENCED

Novembers Doom - New Bassist

Novembers Doom are pleased to announce that we have enlisted the services of BRIAN WHITED (ex-Avernus, Dead Serenade) on bass, replacing the recently departed Mike LeGros. Brian has played with us occasionally in the past, and fits in very well with us both musically and personally. We're pleased to have him back with us now, and he will make his public debut with us in the music video for "The Pale Haunt Departure", the title track of our new CD which is due to be released March 8th, 2005.

Freak Kitchen - Freak Guitar Camp 2005

Scandinavian Week (Swedish spoken): 25th - 30th of July
International Week 1 (English spoken): 1st - 6th of August
International Week 2 (English spoken): 9th - 14th of August

The Freak Guitar Camp has during the past years rapidly grown from a small course for Swedes to what now only can be described as a major international success! Though many details have been improved during the years the basic concept is still the same: What you get are six intensive days of hard work on the guitar in the Swedish woods.

During daytime Mattias IA Eklundh, a k a "The Guru", will lead his God-fearing classes, teaching his various unorthodox techniques as well as picking examples, tapping, harmonics, riffing, finger-picking, poly-rhythms, odd time stuff that will turn your whole concept of music up side down! IA's six-stringed spanking starts right after breakfast and continue until dinner in the late afternoon (plus lunch and a couple of breaks for occasional caffeine and refreshments). There will be tips on how to survive show business, how to get your music out there, what to think of before signing any kind of contract and lots, lots more.

During the evenings Freak Kitchen's extraordinary drummer Björn Fryklund will teach you in everything from the importance of rhythm to how to behave in a band context.

How many times have you put a microphone in front of your groovy sounding amplifier only to get genuinely disappointed by the result? As the sun goes down you will get to learn and try how to record various instruments with maestro Christian Alsing.

As if this wasn't enough, there will also pop up prominent guest guitarists when you least expect it?

The camp is held just outside Gothenburg, Sweden, at a place called Härsjösands Kursgård, located exactly in the middle of nowhere. (Closest airports are Landvetter International Airport and Gothenburg City Airport. You can also get to Gothenburg by ferry, train or bus. We will pick you up. The dare devil might want to drive on his/her own. A detailed map will be provided to prevent you from getting lost in the wilderness).

Among many things, the beautiful surroundings include a nice lake great for various H2O-activities (read: swimming, if you're into that) between the frantic classes, something you might need since at least 10 hours in the class room each day is to expected! After a butt busting day's work there is time for practice and if you're lucky you just might catch a couple of hours of well-deserved sleep!
