Lacuna Coil - New Songtitles Revealed

According to a posting at EmptySpiral.net, LACUNA COIL presented six songs from their forthcoming album, "Karmacode", to members of the world music press on Sunday (Oct. 23) at the Galaxy Studios in Mol, Belgium. The band are currently working in the studio with Grammy award-winning mastering engineer Darcy Proper, whose previous works include PORCUPINE TREE's "Deadwing".

The highly anticipated follow-up to 2002's "Comalies", "Karmacode" was co-produced once again by Waldemar Sorychta was mixed by Ronald Prent (RAMMSTEIN, H.I.M., IRON MAIDEN). Songtitles set to appear on the CD include "What I See", "Fragile", "In Visible Light", "Fragments of Faith", "Within Me" and "Our Truth".

With regards to the new album's title, male vocalist Andrea Ferro had previously said, "When it came to coming up with an album title I wanted to combine one 'old' word that is spiritually connected with another that offers a link to our more 'modern' times. If there were an actual translation of 'karmacode,' it would be something like 'spiritual DNA and the message behind it'. The title attempts to balance our modern, overwhelming, self-centered, fast-paced lifestyles and the desire we all have to live a more spiritual, more compassionate and more fulfilling life."

"Karmacode" is tentatively scheduled for release in March 2006 via Century Media Records.

Nightwish - Tarja Responds To Her Dismissal

Tarja has written a letter to the 'Tarja Turunen Fan' website outlining her feelings on her former bandmates decision to fire her. While not an official statement, the former frontwoman had the following to say:

"I don't have words to express my feelings at the moment. I am devastated. This thing happened in a way that I didn't have a slight chance to give my opinion about it. I got fired out of a band that represents the last 9 years of my life and I am very sad about it. It has been very cruel the way the band handled this in public. This doesn't change the fact that we were doing amazing music together, but I will never forget the fact that they didn't give me the chance to say good bye for the people as a Nightwish singer."

Speaking to Finnish broadcaster YLE, Tarja has stated that she will be holding a press conference in November to give her side of the story on her departure from Nightwish. She also told the network "I'm really upset. The way in which this was brought up publicly is cruel and sad. It wasn't enough that the letter talked about me, but the way in which my husband was also dragged into it is shocking.

To be continued in November...

Edenbeast - Bassist & Vocalist Left The Band

The following messaga was postes on the Edendbeast's website:

"A lot has happened since the last update, both good and bad stuff. Here we go.

Two members have left edenbeast: Erik M. Nielsen (bass) and Steen Knudsen (vocals).
They left for pretty much the same reason - lack of time and dedication, due to other priorities within their lives. We accept their decision and wish them all the best in their future endeavours!

This leaves us in need of a vocalist and...a guitarist? Yes, the bass playing duties are now handled by Bjorn O. who felt the need of a change and grabbed the opportunity when Erik left."

Vanishing Point - Bassist Leaves The Band

Message from Joe Del Mastro:

Hi Everyone.

I am writing to let you all know that I am leaving Vanishing Point. My reasons are personal and it was a decision that I needed to make. Lately I've noticed my life going in a different direction. I felt a lack of passion and drive that I once felt for the band. Vanishing Point needs a member who shares the same vision and future goals. I felt it was the best thing to do for myself but more importantly for the future of Vanishing
Point. It was one of the biggest and hardest decisions that I've ever had to make.

Vanishing Point has been one of the best experiences of my life. It was a childhood dream of mine to be in a band just like Vanishing Point. I have the utmost respect for Tommy, Jack, Silvio and Chris and I wish them all the best for the future. I thank you all for the great times and the opportunity to create and play great music with you. You are friends for life.

I'd like to thank all the fans and people I've met through the band. A special thanks to all my friends and family for their support. A big thanks to everyone who has helped me throughout this wonderful journey.

Cheers, Joe Del Mastro

Ensoph - Finnish Recording New Album

The band finished the recordings for the upcoming album "Projekt X-Katon", which is expected to be release in January 2006. It was "mastered by Goran Finnberg at the Mastering Room in Stockholm , after being previously recorded at the Heartbeat studio ( Venice ) and mixed by Giuseppe Orlando at Outer Sounds Studios ( Rome )".

The album is describe by the label as "the most complete album ENSOPH has ever recorded. With an incredible turn in songwriting, the band has been able to make their proposal much more direct and straight-to-your-face, not losing what has always been their main characteristic, the extreme complex and intense arrangements. A special attention as said has been paid to the songwriting".

The album will have Carmelo and Giuseppe Orlando of Novembre and Antonella Buosi of Scarecrown as guests.

Also the band have been collaborating with Death SS and specially with their leader Steve Silvester. "There will be a first limited edition with two versions of Soft Cell's obscure cult classic "Sex Dwarf" and a remix of Ensoph's "Sun Of The Liar" sung by Steve Sylvester himself."

Next live shows:
HORNED GOD OF THE WITCHES TOUR FINAL ACT
DEATH SS + ENSOPH
08/12/2005 XXI SETTEMBRE - Schio (VI)
09/12/2005 RAINBOW CLUB - Milano

Nightwish - Tarja Out Of The Band

The last gig of the "Once" World Tour in Hartwall-Arena, Helsinki was recorded for the "End Of An Era" live release. At the end of this gig a letter was given to Tarja Turunen (Nightwish's singer) by the rest of the band in which the they (Tuomas,Emppu, Jukka & Marco) explain their decision of leaving her out of the band.

The open letter given to Tarja says:

"Dear Tarja,
It's time to choose whether the story of Nightwish ends here or whether it will still continue an undetermined period of time. We've been working with this creation for 9 years and we are not ready to give up yet. Nightwish is a way of life, something to live for, and we're certain we can't let it go.

Equally certain is the fact that we cannot go on with you and Marcelo any longer. During the last year something sad happened, which I've been going over in my head every single day, morning and night. Your attitude and behavior don't go with Nightwish anymore. There are characteristics I would never have believed to see in my old dear friend.
People who don't talk with each other for a year do not belong in the same band.

We are involved in an industry where the business-side of things is a necessary evil and something to worry about all the time. We are also a band which has always done music from the heart, because of friendship and the music itself. The mental satisfaction should always be more important than money! Nightwish is a band, it's an emotion.
To you, unfortunately, business, money, and things that have nothing to do with those emotions have become much more important. You feel that you have sacrificed yourself and your musical career for Nightwish, rather than thinking what it has given to you.
This attitude was clearly shown to me in the two things you said to me in an airplane in Toronto: "I don't need Nightwish anymore." and "Remember, Tuomas, that I could leave this band at any time, giving you only one day's warning in advance".
I can't simply write any more songs for you to sing.

You have said yourself that you are merely a "guest musician" in Nightwish. Now that visit ends and we will continue Nightwish with a new female vocalist.
We're sure this is an equally big relief to you as it is for us. We have all been feeling bad long enough.

You told us that no matter what, the next Nightwish album will be your last one. However, the rest of us want to continue as long as the fire burns. So there's no sense in doing that next album with you, either.
