Elvenking - 3rd Album To Be Released In Jan, 2006

Italian Folk/power metal band Elvenking has poster following message in their website:

After huge succes of previous albums "Heathenreel" and "Wyrd", EK are ready to return with their third album "THE WINTER WAKE" that will be released on January 27th, once again by AFM-Records.

Recorded at Sherpa Studios (Italy), Mixed at Sonic Pump Studios by Nino Laurenne and mastered at Finnvox Studios by Mika Jussilla (two of Finland's best recording studios), "THE WINTER WAKE" will show once again the main features that made Elvenking a unique band in the current metal scene: fresh and original sound that mixes enchanting melodies, heavy metal groove, catchy choruses and acoustic elements.

With their new full lenghth album the band, encriched by their re-newed line-up, will follow their creative path bringing their sound much further, adding more than ever a personal and mature touch that leads "THE WINTER WAKE" to be an outstanding and surprising collection of songs which are the best manifesto of what EK is in 2005 - some of the songs included are: "Swallowtail", "The Wanderer" and "Neverending Nights".

In these days artist Havancsak Gyula is finishing the works regarding the artwork. This time the booklet will feature 11 different paintings - one for each song - and the cover will be the best piece of art Elvenking could ever ask for.

The band is also proud to announce that the title track will include the very special appereance of Destruction's vocalist Schmier! and that the opening track will be enriched by a fabulous guitar solo played by producer and guitarist Nino Laurenne.

Blind Guardian - All Good With Upcoming Album

Following message was posted in band's website by vocalist Hansi Kürsch:

Hello my friends,

although time keeps on ticking quickly, things go very well in the Guardian camp. To be more precise: we are still on schedule and even though everyone is totally busy and concentrated the atmosphere is very lifely and still relaxed to a certain extend:-) The material for the single will be accomplished at the end of November. To make that happen this particular stuff will get most of our attention for the next 4 weeks. Everyone is already involved in the recording process and we are really excited about the album ΄s progression. It is too early to say when we will be finished exactly, but I would say a worldwide release in the first half of 2006 is very realistic. Things look (sound - as well) very promising. At the moment we are also getting deeper into details such as album title, cover, etc... So, we are about to scratch the most important phase of the recording session and we do not intend to leave you out ... Please, let us work on it a little longer, so we can fix things technically. You will be provided with footage, that is for sure.

Cheers,
Hansi

Within Temptation - Prepare New Live DVD

Within Temptation have posted the following message on their official website:

"In November last year our third album 'The Silent Force' came out in Europe and we recently just released it in the UK as well. Things have been going great, and after a summer full of cool European shows it was also good to see some of our UK fans in London and at the Bloodstock Festival earlier this month. We are happy and a little proud to look back on a year full of highlights.

Now, the festival season is almost over. Everyone thinks Within Temptation are going to sit back and put our feet up! On the contrary, we are currently preparing the release of a new live DVD which will contain the special concert we did on Amsterdam's Java Island, cuts from many other live shows, interviews and backstage footage plus the promo videos since the previous DVD (from the Mother Earth tour). We want to get as many highlights on the DVD('s) as possible for our fans! The release of the 'The Silent Force Tour' DVD is scheduled for November 21st. And in the UK, to follow on from our first single 'Stand My Ground', we are also working on our second single - which will be 'Angels'.

But there is still more good news to announce! There will be a new album in 2006, maybe around the summer. Before that though, a new band member will see the light of day... Sharon is five months pregnant and she & Robert expect a baby in January 2006.

The last two years have really given a boost to our inspiration for new songs - we already have a lot of ideas. After the DVD is finished we will be concentrating on writing in order to surprise you with a fresh and an interesting mix of songs as soon as possible!

Today we have been informed that Within Temptation have been nominated for the 'Best Dutch & Belgian Act' Award at MTV's European Music Awards held in Lisbon on November 3rd. If you like, you can vote for Within Temptation at http://ema.mtv.nl.

We would like to thank all of our fans who made it possible for us to play so many international festivals and shows this summer. We enjoyed being on stage in front of you very much and we look forward to seeing you again very soon!"

Freedom Call - Bassist Leaves The Band

As seen on the official website:

Freedom Call future (written by Daniel - 09/30/2005)
Hi everybody out there,

as you all might know by now- Ilker has left Freedom Call too. You can read his statement under the rubric "News" . We respect his descision and wish him all the best for the future.
Freedom Call will definitely go on. The interest in FC is very high and we got some interesting offers.
The first auditions will be on October 25/26th.

We will inform you about latest news!
Cheerz Daniel

Official statement from Ilker (written by Ilker Ersin - 09/15/2005)
Hi Freedom Callers.

I'm sorry that I have to tell you now that I am no longer Freedom Call's bass player.

I very much enjoyed the past years with the band, and especially the time with you, but it is time for me to follow a different path now - as some of you noticed, I'm currently getting my own band going.

As Cede already said, the last years were pure Rock'n'Roll, and not just an adventure holiday!

My exit has nothing to do with Cede leaving the band, it is a purely personal decision.

Believe me, it was hard for me to inform Daniel, Chris and Nils about my decision just now, but I have to listen to my heart and act accordingly.

As Freedom Call don't have any concerts planned right now, and Daniel is on the road with Gamma Ray, there should be plenty of time for the band to find adequate replacements for me and Cede (as long as they don't have longer hair than we do :-) ).

From counless talks with the others, I know that they respect - and above all understand - my decisision, and we part in friendship.

I wish Freedom Call all the best for the future, CHEEEEEERRRRRRZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ilker

Emperor - Reunion To Play Live Shows In 2006!

It's official, EMPEROR have reunited to play some exclusive shows. The band is confirmed to headline the Inferno Festival and Wacken Open air 2006!!!

The band reunited after four years to play a surprise three-song set for Norwegian metal magazine Scream's 15-year anniversary, which took place at Oslo's Rockefeller Sept. 30. 2005. The band took the scene by surprise, performed three tracks ? "The Loss And Curse Of Reverence", "I Am The Black Wizards", "Inno A Satana" ? and received a rapturous welcome by an ecstatic crowd. Announced as a "big surprise band," the whole arrangement was so secret that neither organizers of the magazine's anniversary party nor the band itself told their closest friends and associates. Anyone that feels they missed out, fear not, next year is when the big events take place. The surprise gig was merely a cool way to "drop the bomb" and create even bigger anticipation for the upcoming shows.

More news will evidently come later...
