Chris Impelliteri - To Join Metal Band

The following message by Crhis Impelliteri was posted on the official Impelliteri's fan club site:

"I am currently writing and recording music with my new Los Angeles based metal band. This will be the first official band I have actually joined. The music is definitely metal; and yes there are lots of Impellitteri shredding solos! ; however, the difference between my new band and Impellitteri is the fact that I am just the lead guitarist as opposed to the leader of the group.
Furthermore, I am excited to be part of this new band to see if we can build something special for the metal community. If all goes well we should have some new music by next summer and the official name of the band."

Orphanage - The Band Has Disbanded

Orphanage is no more...

Through this message we want to bring you the news that the heavy metal band Orphanage has stopped.

From recent internal discussions it appeared that there was too much irritation and a lack of mutual trust, to be able to make a new Orphanage product, by the high quality standards that the band has been known for throughout the years.

An end has come to 11 years of "Innovative Gregorian Celtic Groovy Melodic Doom Death Metal". We've had a great time. A lot of special moments are in our hearts forever. We were there, YOU were there.

Please send the news to all that have supported us in all these years, in what form whatsoever. Doesn't matter if you read this for the 100th time, just be sure that we ?

. . . want to thank YOU ALL!!!

No Orphanage without you; everyone that visited our concerts, that listened to our music, those who have worked for us, worked together with us, those who have shared the ENERGY with us . . . . forever: THANKS !!!

Motörhead - 30th Anniversary Expanded Releases

Motörhead: 30th Anniversary Deluxe Expanded Editions
Available November 11th through Sanctuary Records

Classic Motörhead Albums Receive Special Treatment With Bonus Tracks, Re-Mastering And Extensive Liner Notes

30 years ago, a man called "Lemmy" created something ugly, loud and legendary. That something was Motörhead.

In celebration of three decades of one of the most underrated, influential, and downright noisy bands to ever walk the face of the planet, Sanctuary Records presents commemorative, 30th anniversary editions of some of Motörhead's most important and memorable albums, as well as a collection of BBC archive recordings and vintage performances from the 70s and 80s. Overkill, Bomber, Ace Of Spades, Iron Fist and No Remorse have all been faithfully restored and enhanced for the momentous occasion.

Debuting in 1976 after Ian "Lemmy" Kilmister was unceremoniously ejected from the space-rock band Hwawkwind, Motörhead was certainly something "different". "Different" in a good way, of course. The band invented a musical genre known, appropriately enough, as "speed metal". Fast, crude, in-your-face and abrasive as hell, there had never been anything else quite like Motörhead.

With the release of Overkill in 1979, Motörhead introduced the lineup that would create some of the most important hard music albums ever written: Lemmy on bass and grinding vocal duties, "Fast" Eddie Clarke on guitar and "Philthy" Phil Taylor on drums. It seems only fitting that the first album to feature this legendary unit should receive the deluxe edition treatment. Such memorable tracks as "Overkill", "Stay Clean", "Damage Case" and "Tear Ya Down" are given a high-profile presentation, while a second disc of bonus tracks, including b-sides and BBC radio performances makes this release worth having.

Bomber, Motörhead's second 1979 release and the album made famous by the unique "bomber" shaped lighting rig that highlighted the accompanying tour, features such awesome songs as "Bomber" and "Stone Dead Forever", as well as a bonus disc featuring b-sides, alternate versions of album tracks, and the "Golden Years" EP.

1980's Ace Of Spades again features fully re-mastered takes of the entire original album, including the seminal title track, perhaps Motörhead's most well-known anthem, as well as multiple alternate versions of many of the album's standout tracks and BBC radio session outtakes.

Venom - Ultimate Venom Box Set

The Ultimate Venom Box Set, MMV

Available November 8th Through Sanctuary Records

Many bands have seemingly made a deal with the devil to mark their place in the annals of heavy metal history, but Venom was perhaps the first to outwardly flaunt such a pact and easily among the most influential. With their 1981 debut album "Welcome To Hell" and the ominous chant of, "Evil? In league with Satan!," Venom declared war on the status quo, spit in the face of the very notion of common decency, and set the pace for what was to come in the world of extreme music. The British trio of alcohol-fueled, evil-minded wild men created a legacy unlike any other, coining the phrase "black metal" and influencing such juggernauts as Slayer and Metallica. Indeed, the very image of Cronos, Mantas and Abaddon, as well as the pentagrams and inverted crosses that adorned their album covers, helped bring an image and an attitude to heavy metal that is still poignant to this day. MMV is a long overdue, four disc testament to the legacy of Venom.

MMV is a trek into the past, featuring demos, outtakes, rarities, a radio interview and alternative versions of songs. Such impactful Venom classics as "Black Metal", "In League With Satan", "Live Like An Angel (Die Like A Devil)", "Welcome To Hell", "Bloodlust" and "Acid Queen" are all represented in fully re-mastered form. Also included is a full disc of material from the Assault album series. Re-mastered and assembled by Cronos himself, the four disc collection comes packaged in a 6"x12" box, emblazoned with Venom's distinct logo and baphomet design. The box set includes a 60 page booklet and collector's poster. MMV's release comes at a very appropriate time: 2005 marks the 25th anniversary of Venom's storied career. Any metal enthusiast should make room in their collection for this audio-history of a band that changed the face of metal forever.

Vehemence - Call It Quits

The following was posted in the band's official website:

8 years after it all started, we decided that now is the time to throw in the towel. It was fun, and we would like to thank all the people who have supported us along the way. Vehemence was and is a huge part of our lives, but at this point its time to start fresh. The death of Vehemence has since spawned 3 new bands from its ex members. Abigail Williams featuring Mark, Andy and Bjorn of Vehemence (www.myspace.com/abigailwilliams), He Who Binds Himself featuring Nathan (www.myspace.com/hewhobindshimself), and as John stated "I'm looking for members for a new band and I am also available for touring. Currently I'm also affiliated with several other side projects which I will release soon."

We still have a batch of new shirts coming this year, as well as a new remixed version of our first self released disc entitled The Thoughts From Which I Hide, that will be available exclusively at www.vehemence.com. Vehemence may do shows every now and then, but will not be a full time band. Just keep checking our website as that will still be up and running.

Any comments for the band can be left at www.myspace.com/vehemence

Beyond Twilight - Update

The following message was posted in the official Beyond Twilight website:

"In just 3 weeks Finn has finished the writings for a complete symphony. Working intensively day and night Finn has created what will be the most complex and personal writings in the history of Beyond Twilight. Not only writing a complete symphony but also recording all of the keyboards and classical orchestrations and arrangements on top of this - probably the most far out project done by him. At first the idea was to do an EP with cover tracks but the time was just not right for it. Still supposed to do an EP Finn wrote 2 tracks for it but decided to trash them and the idea of doing an EP. He had too much to get off his chest in the wake of what has happened recently. He wants to tell in music instead of words what is going on in his mind. So there you go a complete symphony - something very unique and special to look forward to for any Beyond Twilight fan. The recordings of the rock orchestrations will start tomorrow. Stay tuned!"
