Unisonic - Drummer Leaves, Band On Hiatus

German power metallers Unisonic made two important announcements recently. The first is that drummer Kosta Zafiriou has left the band. Secondly, the band is going on hiatus, because Michael Kiske and Kai Hansen will reunite with Helloween for a world tour. After that, they promise to return and work on their third album.

Krokus - Tribute Album Coming Soon

Swiss hard rock legends Krokus will release a new studio album, Big Rocks, on January 27th via Century Media. The disc sees the band paying tribute to bands and artists like Led Zeppelin, Queen, The Who, Stepenwollf, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones and many more by presenting their very own versions of classic tracks such as "My Generation", "Tie Your Mother Down", "Whole Lotta Love", "Quinn The Eskimo", "Born To Be Wild" and others.

Eternal Idol - New Tune Released

Mastodon - Brent Hinds Breaks Leg, New Album Complete

Brent Hinds has broken his leg in a motorcycle accident, it has been revealed. The Mastodon guitarist/vocalist was about to play a few shows with his other band Giraffe Tongue Orchestra. Meanwhile, Mastodon are done with their new album, confirmed by Troy Sanders, which will be released next year. So, at least there's that!

Unity - Henjo Richter And Michael Ehré Form New Band

A new power metal act is born. Steamhammer/SPV will give birth to a new dragon child, or we can call them Unity. The first chapter in this epic book will be written soon and their debut album will be out next year. This saga will be written by drummer Michael Ehré and guitarist Henjo Richter both from Gamma Ray. The eponymously titled recording has been scheduled for release in early 2017.

Mägo De Oz - Founding Guitarist Dies

A long time ago, Mägo De Oz was born in 1989 and guitarist Pedro Pablo Diaz was one of the Spanish band's three founding members. He would leave the band in 1990 but played on their first demo. It was another founding member, drummer Txus di Fellatio, still in the band, who announced the sad news.
