My passion for drums started at age 12 with my first pair of sticks beating on a textbook. My mom was kind and patient enough to buy me my first drum kit a year later and I was beyond hooked. Drums became my life. For the next 3 years I would spend several hours a day practicing and constantly look for new ways to improve as a drummer. My quest to push the boundaries of my skills found me a kindred spirit with guitarist Joe Van Houten. We founded the video-game infused mathcore project Journal to quench our need to create mindbending metal. Seth recognized this quality in me and approached me to join Ænimus. Considering the direction we are all now heading, musically and professionally, it was a no-brainer. I'm excited to see how far we'll be able to push each other and where our love for music will take us.
