In the meantime, Mike Browning (Former Morbid Angel and Nocturnus drummer/vocalist) has issued a statement regarding what is being billed as a reunion of the "classic lineup" of Nocturnus, set to take place in Europe this fall. In a post to to the comments section of Blabbermouth, Browning writes, "I want to be totally up front and honest with everyone that the original lineup will not be touring. My band After Death will be doing the tour as Nocturnus, we WILL be playing at least 7 of the 10 songs on 'The Key" as well as a couple of old Morbid Angel songs done the way they were originally written on "Abominations of Desolation"! Mike Davis was asked and he didn't want to do the tour as he and I were the ones who wrote pretty much everything on 'The Key'. Lou [Louis Panzer, keyboards] and Sean [McNenney, guitar] were not asked to do this. What people will see will be a show that no one else can faithfully perform containing old Nocturnus and Morbid Angel material that I either wrote or co-wrote. And it will be done the way it was meant to be written and performed, not some contrived 'rock star' version! The tour will be from October 13-27, 13 shows only to be done in Europe because of these U.S. trademark restrictions from the former members who did indeed steal the name and band I created back in 1988."

Wastefall have announced its decision to disband. Here's the official statement:

"The band's situation has not been really good the past few months, since Alexander was studying in Crete (island of Greece) far away from Athens. We did renew our contract with Intromental Management this year and after this we would have had the opportunity to play at ProgPower Scandinavia in October 2008. Our drummer Kostis passed the examinations and he will have to leave Greece this summer for a few years, since he will study in a musical university in England, so we found a professional session drummer to help us for this live show. Also Domenik has moved to Germany since 2007 and although he was doing all he could, it was not easy for us to handle our obligations. The band was spread out and it was difficult for all of us to organize our priorities in any way required. We were also in a very difficult economic situation and it was then that Alexander decided to leave Wastefall.

A few words from guitarist Alex: "Due to various complicated reasons and my personal choice to follow my academic studies, I can no longer be a Wastefall member. I want to thank all my band-mates, fans, Claus and Lars from Intromental, Ken at Sensory and Olivier at Replica for all the great times. Concerning music, all I have to say is that I'm going to continue writing music, in a very different style though, and not with the perspective of releasing something soon. It was a great journey I will always remember. I hope that other bands will be influenced by our passion so far and mark their way in the "rotten" music business. Dom, Chris, Nick, Kostis :Love, respect, good luck and apologies. C ya out there."

The beginning and vision of Wastefall was an idea of Alexander and Domenik and since Alexander wasn't available anymore the band's "core" was broken. After this, nothing will be the same so we got the difficult decision and we are really sad to announce the end of Wastefall. At first we would like to say a big thank and a lot of apologies to Hercules Loukakis for his time, honesty and will to help us out with the "ProgPower live show". We would like to thank our former members, Ken Golden from our record label Sensory and Olivier Garnier from our french record label/promotion Replica, Claus Jensen and Lars Larsen from our Official Management, George Karamanos, Nikos Sigklidis and Vicky Michalitsi (Si-lia) for being our personal local management/advertisers, all our friends, our families for supporting us, local and international magazines, webzines, forums, and finally our FANS in all over the world and all those who did believe in Wastefall's dream and supported us all these years.

Unearth have completed work on their new album, which will be titled "The March," and will be released on October 14th via Metal Blade Records.

"The March" was recorded at both Massachusetts' System Recording Studios and Zing Studios with producer Adam Dutkiewicz. The effort is said to feature Unearth's "most dynamic material to date, combining strong tension and release, abundant guitar solos and a bulldozing power-groove.

Frontman Trevor Phipps comments: "'The March' symbolizes both the evil and hopeful sides of humanity. The Evil: With the constant balancing act of power within government, religion and our financial institutions, there lies the chance of those most hungry for power to alter and restrict our freedoms for their gain. The Hopeful: This represents the faith in mankind as the most powerful force on the planet. If we come together and do not fight over religion, class and borders then we hold the key to a peaceful world. There are two possible futures in store; either a March of power and greed or a March of a unified human race."

Florida Black Metal band Kult ov Azazel have updated their website with the following message:

"We were originally asked and prepared to do the Horna tour that many have been emailing about. There have been numerous bulletins and news sources on the internet stating we are on the tour. However, this is not the case.

We had to reschedule our studio time from August to October. We are now entering Mana Studio in Tampa, FL to record the next album titled "Destroying The Sacred" from October 28 thru November 11.

This not only put an end to us doing the Horna tour but also a few one offs that we had been offered. Rest assure, once the new album is recorded we will turn our focus to touring/regional shows and destroying all with force!"

Songs set to appear on "Destroying The Sacred" are as follows: "Prelude To Holocaust", "The Plagues Of Mankind", "Slaughter The Prophet", "I Am The Devil", "Sacrilege: Destroying The Sacred, Gutting Religious Heritage, Conquer & Annihilate" and "The Lucifer Principal".

German metallers Heaven Shall Burn invite their fans to come out to their show on September 12th, 2008 in Vienna's "Gasometer" club, which will be recorded for their first official DVD release.

The band provides more detailed info:
"Vienna Calling! Be part of our DVD! Get your free tickets! We're about to plan the release of our very first official DVD! Furthermore, we're celebrating our 10th anniversary this year, so we thought about doing something special!
We will play a show on September 12th in Vienna under the slogan "1000 years of HSB" to do some exclusive live-recordings. We invited some good friends to join us: Maroon and Dew-Scented will share the stage with us! The concert will be the opening night of the brand-new club "Gasometer" in Vienna and the great thing is we will get you in for free!!! As of now till the 31st of August you can order your free tickets. All you have to do is head over to www.planet.tt, click "12. 9. METAL OPENING" and continue!

If there are still tickets available after the 31st of August it will cost you about 10 Euros.

We're very happy to be coming back to Vienna and it's of course a very conscious decision to record a show in this town. Don't worry our DVD will also feature material from our home area and from all over the world, but Vienna has always been something special to us as well and shows there were some of the craziest we've ever played. We hope that night at the Gasometer will be as insane as the show on the Donauinselfest last year!!! If you're not living in Austria, you should definitely think about taking the opportunity to visit one of Europe's most beautiful cities and maybe also come to the show! So see you there!"

As posted on the Cavalera Conspiracy MySpace:

"Cavalera Conspiracy has been deemed an "inappropriate" band to perform with Judas Priest on their Priest Feast 2008 tour dates in Australia and New Zealand, and have thusly been forced to cancel their appearance at the previously announced tour dates in the southern Pacific.

Although Cavalera Conspiracy (featuring Max and Iggor of the legendary Sepultura) had several amazing and successful dates with their brothers in Priest throughout Eastern Europe, apparently the band has been deemed too inflammatory to open for Priest in Australia and NZ..

So, with that said, this post is an apology to the fans in the Australia and New Zealand for the cancellations. The Cavalera brothers will be back soon (..hopefully with a more reasonably priced tour...)!"

Mariusz Duda, Riverside's singer and bass player, together with fellow musicians, has just finished working on his solo album, "Lunatic Soul." The release date has been set for October 13th, 2008. The album will be released on the British label Snapper Music, more specifically - Kscope, known for having released the earlier albums of Porcupine Tree, and presently producing Anathema and No-Man. In Poland on Mystic Production. On the "Lunatic Soul" album you will find 10 atmospheric tracks making up 47 minutes of music.

Mariusz Duda: "I touched upon a vital subject on this record, namely... death. What came out of this was a conceptual journey to the world beyond full of reflections on transience and all we may want to leave after we pass (if we want to leave anything). In the sphere of music, it will be intriguing. I would call those sounds oriental-alternative, not really having anything in common with progressive rock. An interesting fact is that there is no electric guitar here at all."

You can listen to some fragments of "Lunatic Soul" music at http://www.myspace.com/lunaticsoulband.

Kobi Farhi, vocalist of Israel's Orphaned Land has posted the following statement regarding the status of the band's highly anticipated follow-up to 2004's much celebrated "Mabool" album as well as their participation in the upcoming new documentary by Sam Dunn ("Metal: A Headbanger's Journey") "Global Metal":

"Hello to all the orphans out there! We are happy to inform you that the writing process of our long awaited album "The Never Ending Way Of ORwarriOR" is about to end soon, we have more than 90 minutes of written music. We don't like to repeat ourselves, so do not expect a "Mabool Vol. 2"! Of course, the female vocals and the oriental instruments will be there as always, but "ORwarriOR" is different and I can say for sure that it is more extreme, powerful and less progressive. Still, like all our albums, it is Orphaned Land and you'll all notice that. Watch out for the first single, which is the opener of the album called: "Sapari"!

We are also doing the arrangements to finalise the artwork and dates for recordings and production later this year, and we are still looking for the right drummer to fill in for the album.

On another matter, Orphaned Land appears in Sam Dunn's new documentary "Global Metal", along with Metallica, Slayer, Sepultura, X-Japan and more, the film is a journey which is exploring the metal scenes in some rather exotic regions of the world, like for example in Dubai, Indonesia, China, Israel etc. The orphaned sons of the orient will soon come back to rock you!".

A trailer for "Global Metal" seeing Orphaned Land's Kobi Farhi appear alongside metal legends Tom Araya, Max Cavalera and Lars Ulrich can be viewed now here or here. Besides interview sequences, the movie also includes live footage filmed during an Orphaned Land show in Tel Aviv.

Megadeth's webmaster has issued the following update after a call to Dave Mustaine:

"So... I was talking to my beloved master tonight on the phone and he wanted me to let you all know that things are moving along oh so well with the brand new studio! The project is in its initial phases... large warehouse type deal... slowly converting into part deluxe recording studio... pre production... start recording new album in Fall!
Dave is quite psyched about this studio and getting the band in, and everyone else involved to lay down some tracks and put out the next stellar Megadeth album! Ahh yes, life is good."

German metallers Axel Rudi Pell will release their new album, entitled "Tales Of The Crown", on October 24th in Germany (October 27th in the rest of Europe and October 28th in US/Canada) via SPV Records.

SPV press release:
"With an impressive seventeen releases in 19 years, the Axel Rudi Pell Band counts among the most consistent, lasting and creative acts in the whole of Europe. Very few German guitarists can point to as long and successful a career as the musician from Bochum, whose unmistakable signature marks not only his characteristic guitar style, but also his compositional skills. 27 October 2008 (Germany: 24 October 2008) will see the arrival of his eighteenth offering, "Tales Of The Crown", a haunting studio album featuring ten brand-new compositions. "Our fans will get just the kind of songs they have come to know and expect from me and my band", says Pell, adding, "plus a few little innovations". Axel Rudi Pell is referring to the contemporary touch which some of his latest tracks feature, mainly in terms of rhythm. "But don't worry, these modern approaches are only gradual and don't affect the typical flair of my songs".

Tales Of The Crown was recorded at Gelsenkirchen's Redhouse Studios by the tried and tested line-up consisting of Axel Rudi Pell, American vocalist Johnny Gioeli, keyboardist Ferdy Doernberg, bassist Volker Krawczak and drummer Mike Terrana. The album was produced by Axel Rudi Pell and sound engineer Charlie Bauerfeind, who also mixed the ten new numbers. Like its highly successful predecessor, the accomplished cover artwork was created by the Columbian artist, Felipe Machado Franco.

All those who were disappointed that the Axel Rudi Pell Band couldn't make this year's Wacken Open Air festival (vocalist Johnny Gioeli was unavailable due to commitments in the US) can look forward to their next tour in January/February 2009 - detailed concert dates to follow soon - and make a note in their diaries of the 20th anniversary W:O:A 2009, for which the band has already been confirmed."

"Tales Of The Crown" [cover] tracklisting:

01. Higher
02. Ain't Gonna Win
03. Angel Eyes
04. Crossfire
05. Touching My Soul
06. Emotional Echoes
07. Riding On An Arrow
08. Tales Of The Crown
