The Obsessed - Prepare New Album, Stream Demo
Newly reformed from the ashes of Spirit Caravan, guitarist/vocalist Scott "Wino" Weinrich and the pair of musicians who rounded out the former (and current) trio, have signed to Relapse Records for the first new The Obsessed record since The Church Within, which was issued back in 1994. The band will enter the studio this summer to record the tentatively entitled Sacred album. A demo version of the song "Be The Night" from the forthcoming album can be heard below.

Mithras - Rayner Coss Quits
Mithras are down to one man. The remaining soldier, Leon Macey, has explained on the band's Facebook page that bassist/vocalist Rayner Coss has departed the band. Rayner Coss was one of the founding members along with Leon. The band has been preparing the release of their first full-length in nine years, On Strange Loops, but no release date has been officially announced.

Insomnium - New Album And Book Announced
Finnish melodic death metallers Insomnium have been in the studio forging a very special and bold release during the past few months. Titled Winter's Gate, it is a concept album made up of one epic 40-minute song. The album is built around a short story, "Winter's Gate" ("Talven Portti" in Finnish), written by vocalist and bassist Niilo Sevänen, recipient of numerous Finnish awards and nominations. The short story is about a group of Vikings who set out to find a fabled island west of Ireland, despite the treacherous winter drawing near. The full story will be released together with the album as a book with translations in English, Finnish and German, and illustrated by the artist Teemu Tähkänen.

Paul Di'Anno has been hospitalized for an undisclosed medical issue, forcing him to cancel his previously announced June 2016 tour in Brazil. According to the tour promoter, Blog n Roll Produções, Di'Anno is undergoing a series of tests to help ensure an accurate diagnosis and identify an appropriate course of treatment but it is a delicate situation.

Crashdïet - Martin Sweet Launches New Band
Crashdïet guitarist Martin Sweet has launched a new band called Sweet Creature. Together with Michael Txr of ToxicRose on drums, Tin Star of Gemini Five on bass, and longtime songwriting partner Linus Nirbrant from This Ending on rhythm guitar, the group has recorded a full-length studio album due out later this year. First out is the single "Not Like Others", the official video for which can be seen below. Martin Sweet, who is handling the lead vocals, describes the sound as classic hard rock with gloomy melodies and lyrics.

AC/DC - 7000 Belgian Fans Request Refunds For Axl Rose-Fronted Show
Since frontman Brian Johnson could no longer perform with AC/DC due to hearing loss, and the band announced that Axl Rose will be their new live vocalist for the upcoming tours, many fans aren't happy with the choice. In fact, 7,000 Belgian fans want their money back for the tickets they bought. Fans have been offered similar refunds for the 12 other dates on the European tour, which kicks off in Lisbon, Portugal on May 7th and runs until June 12th.

Frailty - Announce Show, Begin Recording New Album
