Timo Tolkki - Quarreling With Frontiers Records

In the ongoing saga between Stratovarius guitarist Timo Tolkki and Frontiers Records in regards to the release of his new album "Saana - Warrior Of Light Pt. 1 - Journey To Crystal Island", Tolkki has issued an extensive statement on his MySpace blog.

Short synopsis: due to the fact that Frontiers haven't fullfilled its contractual obligations regarding "Saana", Timo Tolkki has terminated the contract between his production company Goldenworks and them. Regardless of that, Frontiers Records have notified Timo Tolkki by email today, that they are going to release "Saana" anyway without Timo Tolkki's permission even though they don't have the material to be able to produce the CD at all, as Frontiers only have MP3 files which are not adequate to produce a high quality CD. Also they have absolutely no graphic material for the booklet, information regarding the songs or even the lyrics...

You can find the full blog here. The Frontiers press release regarding the album can be found here.

Cryptopsy - New Album Title Update

Extreme metal titans Cryptopsy have been forced to cancel their recently announced tour of South America in March, after drummer Flo Mounier broke his kneecap. Mounier had completed the drum tracking process for the group's new album prior to the incident, so it did not affect the recording. The tour of South America is expected to be re-scheduled later in 2008.

Cryptopsy are currently putting the finishing touches on their sixth full-length "The Unspoken King", which will surface through Century Media Records this summer. The group recently announced the addition of new frontman Matt McGachy (3 Mile Scream) and keyboards/samplist Maggie Durand to their line-up.

Guitarist Alex Auburn states: "Right now the band is plunged deeply into the production of the new album and so far everything is going well. Fans will be amazed by the diversity and open minded vision of extremes for this particular entity. Some song titles we've been working on are "Worship Your Demons," "Resurgence Of An Empire," and "Silence The Tyrants." More news to follow soon."

Neuraxis - Working On New Album

Prosthetic Records posted the following update on Neuraxis's upcoming album:

Canadian tech-thrashers Neuraxis will enter the studio February 19 with producer Jef Fortin (of fellow Canadians Anonymous) to record the band's fifth studio album. The recording process will be done in late March and is scheduled to be mastered by Alan Douches (Mastodon, Converge, Shadows Fall), and will feature artwork from Dennis Sibeijn of Damnengine Art (Job For A Cowboy, Chimaira). The yet-untitled effort should see a July release through Prosthetic Records.

"We feel this album will be something monumental for Neuraxis," says guitarist Rob Milley. "With the new line-up and the energy we have created in the writing sessions, it's something that is new and refreshing, yet still retains a lot of the essence of what Neuraxis has built since day one."

The new album will be the first studio album featuring new vocalist Alex Leblanc and guitarist William Seghers, both having appeared on the recently released Live Progression, via Galy Records. Live Progression is the live follow-up to Neuraxis' last studio album, 2005's Trilateral Progression. More details, tour dates, and regular in-studio footage updates will be available shortly. The first web episode is online now here and features sneak previews of new songs, as well as commentary in both English and French Canadian on the new material.

Cavalera Conspiracy - Two Songs Available For Download

The following was written in a promotional publication by Roadrunner Records:

"The wait is over. The time is now. Many said it would never happen, that Max and Iggor Cavalera, the Brazilian brothers and visionaries that formed the groundbreaking Sepultura would reunite to make music together again. Despite having spent 12 years apart, the inescapable fact remains: Max and Iggor share blood and an unparalleled sonic kinesis. Hence, the Cavalera Conspiracy was born. While the Cavalera Conspiracy and their debut "Inflikted" may seem like the closest we'll get to a Sepultura reunion, make no mistake. The Cavalera Conspiracy is its own maniacal, untameable beast with its own set of rules.
Two tracks from the album, the title track "Inflikted" and first single "Sanctuary" are now up and doing the rounds at roadrunnerrecords.com.au website. Just go to the news section, follow the link and decide for yourself...in time it will become obvious that its only the music, not the rumours, that speaks the loudest."

Both songs are also available for download at the band's MySpace page.

"Inflikted" will be released internationally on March 24th and in the U.S.A. on March 25th.

01. Inflikted
02. Sanctuary
03. Terrorize
04. Black Ark
05. Ultra-Violent
06. Hex
07. The Doom Of All Fires
08. Bloodbrawl
09. Nevertrust
10. Hearts Of Darkness
11. Must Kill
