I was a huge All Shall Perish fan back when The Price of Existence was their current album. Although I haven't much cared for them since that album, but I still always thought Eddie was one of the better deathcore vocalists out there, despite ASP's music sounding generic and boring after the phenomenal The Price of Existence.

I'm surprised you don't like This Is Where It Ends, I've always thought that album was on par with TPoE (while being slightly weaker) with some quite awesome guitar work, courtesy of Mr. Artusato.

But anyways, I'd say All Shall Perish is as generic as it gets, but to me it does not mean a damn thing cause they were one of the pioneers of the genre, so of course they are going to carry with them pretty much all of the genre's properties.

Well, in all honesty, I may not have entirely given that a full, proper listen. I believe I listened to a few songs online, and none of it really caught my attention, so I moved on. If you say you think is almost on par with TPoE then I'll give it another try. But Awaken the Dreamers was very disappointing to me, it just sounded like very uninteresting TPoE b-sides.

I did the same with Awaken The Dreamers, I don't know that album very well but what I've heard of it isn't bad but it just slipped past me.

TIWIE is a bit like TPoE mixed with ATD. They have TPoE's format and most of its power and urgency but fused with ATD's technical and melodic guitar work. Best of both world's really, the only problem is, it dilutes its intensity somewhat (compared to Price). So don't expect the ballsack-popping intensity of TPoE, but still, it is quite good. I don't spin it much these days but when it came out I did buy it and I know I spun it a damn lot.

Just found this interview while trying to make ASP's MS page fully up to date, it explains a lot about why Awaken the Dreamers was such a disappointment.

Wow, that's a great interview. I especially liked the questions regarding their genre and the such and I think the ASP guys' answer was really spot on too.

And yeah, TIWIE does not suffer from that kind of problems for sure.
I'd be interested to hear what you think of it if you indeed go around listening to it .
