Metallica - Win Award For Best 3D Documentary
Recently, guitarist Kirk Hammett admitted he was disappointed that Metallica Through The Never didn't do better, but Metallica's IMAX 3D concert film won the Best 3D Documentary award at the International 3D & Advanced Imaging Society's fifth annual Creative Arts Awards. Lars Ulrich and Robert Trujillo were in attendance to receive the award.
Lars Ulrich said in his acceptance speech: "Four years ago, when we got this idea - we had no idea what this movie would be - other than we knew that it was going to be in 3D."
Metallica will hit the European festival circuit this summer and South America in March, with the band's setlists comprised of requests made online by fans attending each date. One slot at each night's show will be reserved for a new song. You can make your request here.
Below you can also check out the band's performance of "One" taken from the 3D movie.
