Stone Sour - Guitarist Jim Root Out Of The Band
Things have gone sour for guitarist Jim Root. The Stone Sour member is out of the band. When asked about the fact that he wouldn't be playing with the band in some summer shows on his Instagram account, Root replied: "I'm not in that band anymore. Not my decision. Not happy about it." The band promptly issued a statement on their Facebook page about the matter. While Jim Root suggests he was fired, Stone Sour are not explaining why it happened, only that "it's best for both bands." Jim Root is also one of the current guitarists for Slipknot.
Here is the band's statement: "As some of you might have heard by now, Stone Sour and Jim Root have indeed parted ways. We were trying to wait until the completion of the new SK album, but in light of recent events, we are going to confirm this information and move on. We feel it's best for both bands and hope that is reflected in the days to come. We will give you more information when the time comes."
Slipknot/Stone Sour vocalist Corey Taylor also said on his Twitter account: "Jim and I are still working together in Slipknot and the album is almost done."
A similar situation also happened with Slipknot's drummer Joey Jordison, who said he didn't quit the band after the band announced they had parted ways.
