Fen - Unveil New Album Cover And More

We already knew that Fen was working on a new album. The post-black metal trio also promised it would be out around October/November and they kept the promise. Apart from unveiling the cover artwork that will grace the six-track album, the London unit also confirmed that it will be called Carrion Skies. The artwork for the album was created by Fen's bassist Grungyn.

The album is set to drop on Code 666, a sub-label of the Aural Music Group, on the 22nd of November.

It was recorded, mixed and mastered by Greg Chandler at the Priory Recording Studio, Sutton Coldfield, England. Carrion Skies will appear in three formats: standard jewel box, limited edition gatefold DLP and deluxe limited edition wood box DCD, with the latter two containing various rare and exclusive bonus tracks.

Tracklist:

01. Our Names Written In Embers Part 1 (Beacons Of War)
02. Our Names Written In Embers Part 2 (Beacons Of Sorrow)
03. The Dying Stars
04. Sentinels
05. Menhir - Supplicant
06. Gathering The Stones
07. Coffin Soil (exclusive bonus track DLP and wood box)
08. Trilithon (exclusive bonus track wood box)
09. Twilight Descends (rare bonus track wood box)

Soon you should be able to hear new material.

This is interesting news.

Well, last record was mixed bag but somehow it came off pretty good at the end. I hope new album much be more satisfying and rawer than the last one.

I hate the album artwork, but I'm pleasantly optimistic. Looking back at Dustwalker, there were quite a few amazing tracks as well as a few tracks that weren't as engaging. I highly doubt they will top Epoch, but if they adopt a heavier approach (as suggested by The Walker in an interview NOT shown in the MS article above), I think we might be in for a treat.

Totally looking forward to this one! it comes out a day before my 21st birthday, so it makes a nice early present.

Ordinary men hate solitude. But the Master makes use of it, embracing his aloneness, realizing he is one with the whole universe (Lao Tzu).

I hate the album artwork

I don't hate it, but it's the kind of artwork that looks good when it's a thumbnail or something, but when it's enlarged it looks pretty bad.

This year had a pretty weak first few months, but since recently loads of great albums have been released. I'm expecting this one to be great as well if it's just as good as the song "Menhir - Supplicant".

After eyeing some of those deluxe box sets they have on offer, I can say that it won't really matter to me.
