Vesania - New Song Streaming Online, Announce New Album
Vesania, the Polish symphonic black metal act that features current and former members of Behemoth, Dimmu Borgir, Vader, and Decapitated, have announced their fourth full-length album, and first since 2007. Deus Ex Machina is finally scheduled for release on October 28th, 2014 via Metal Blade Records. The brand new track, "Innocence," can be heard now below. Check it out.
Concept description: "The title of the album is a term from ancient Greek tragedy and translates to "god from the machine". The idea for the concept was that a machine, typically a rudimentary crane, would lower a thespian playing god onto the stage to solve the seemingly unsolvable conflict in the plot. In modern entertainment, the term has evolved to primarily refer to a cheap solution in a poorly written script or novel. Alternatively, Vesania's Deus Ex Machina is a call for any kind of help or intervention because all of the lyrics on the album are hopeless and show characters in situations that leaves them powerless. One of the tracks tells the story of the lowering of an actor, supposedly the god, onto a stage before a corrupted man searching for answers. Instead, that actor is lowered by a noose around their neck, having already died. The lyrics paint a drab picture, particularly when paired with equally bleak music."
Recording was completed at Sound Division Studio, with mastering by Scott Hull at Visceralsound Studios.

An interesting counterpoint the the aforementioned bands, especially Behemoth, Vader, and Decapitated. When I first got into Polish Extreme Metal Vesania was definitely one of my favorites. They are more traditionally artistic - see theatrical - but no less good. It will be interesting to hear the final product. Maybe they will tour as well, perhaps on their own or in support of one of the other bands they're related to. I enjoyed the single.

Hopefully now that they are signed to Metal Blade and if Orion has time away from Behemoth they can tour over here in North America as well. Wishful thinking though. And yes, their last album Distractive Killusions was awesome; even liked it better than God The Lux.

Written by D.T. Metal on 28.09.2014 at 03:13 That's good to know. I'd love an all Polish line-up to tour the states, something like Behemoth, Vader, Decapitated, Hate, and Vesania. I'm not as into these bands as I once was, but that would still be worth seeing.
