Rivers Of Nihil - Recruits New Drummer

Technical death metal outfit Rivers Of Nihil has amicably parted ways with drummer Alan Balamut, who was in the band for the last two years. With Alan's departure, Rivers Of Nihil welcome Dylan Potts. To showcase his talent behind the kit, the band has filmed a new drum play-through for the track "Perpetual Growth Machine," taken from their latest album Monarchy. You can watch it below.

The band stated: "As some of you guys may already know Alan Balamut is no longer the drummer for Rivers Of Nihil. He left the band in order to finish school and on this journey we wish him the very best! With that being said we would like to officially welcome Dylan Potts as our new drummer. Dylan really helped us out in a tight situation by filling in for us on the Infernus Tour this past fall. He is an absolutely phenomenal player, a great person, and we are honored to have him as a full time member."

Alan Balamut about leaving the band: "Hey everyone. I'm sure many of you already know and some may not but I have decided to part ways with Rivers Of Nihil a few months ago in good terms. The reason is simply that I need to financially situate myself (NYC isn't easy) and my urge to finish school in Music Production. I found Dylan Potts just before my departure and I believe he fits in and performs with the band in phenomenal ways. The whole ride was an amazing and unforgettable experience and I have nothing but respect for each member, former member, our manager, all the people I've met and Metal Blade Records. In the meantime I'll be doing session work and other music productions, and I'll be more open for touring after I finish school in 2016 - and if Rivers Of Nihil ever need any assistance, I'll be right there for them. I wish the band all the success for next year and beyond!"

Rivers Of Nihil is currently preparing for a headlining U.S. tour next month.
