Cradle Of Filth - Stream 'Dusk And Her Embrace - The Original Sin'
In case you didn't know yet, Cradle Of Filth will be releasing Dusk... And Her Embrace - The Original Sin via the recently resurrected extreme music label Cacophonous Records on July 8th. Recorded at Birmingham's Zella Studios in the Spring of 1995, Dusk... And Her Embrace - The Original Sin saw the band introduce Gothic elements to their extreme sound. However, soon after recording the band split, half of the band forming The Blood Divine, and the remaining members made the collective decision at the time to not release a record that was not representative of the new line-up. Hear the old new sounds at this location.
The Dusk... And Her Embrace 1996 version that saw the light of day was not the original, due to a period of great turmoil, necessitating the recording of a new version and the discarding of the band's first attempt.
Now with the resurrection of Cacophonous, Dusk... And Her Embrace - The Original Sin will see the light of day. Remastered by Scott Atkins at Ipswich's Grindstone Studio, the record comprises of 10 studio album tracks, 2 bonus demo tracks and artwork by Drake Mefestta. Guest vocal appearances come from Cronos (Venom) and Steve Grimmett (Grim Reaper). Pre-order here.

It's not supposed to replace anything. IT's actually quite good, but the version that was released in the 90's is much better.

I listened to it just once and I must say that 'the original' from 1996 is far, far better. Anyway, I find it very interesting because it's a clear 'bridge' between their first and their following ep and album in all senses: musicianship is vastly better on Vempire and Dusk (1996) on all levels but specially guitars and some drum parts here and there; songs in '96 are more consistent (this sounds a little 'demoish' at times...); and Danny's voice is not so high pitched so some people probably would find it more accesible. I also agree this is a little more gothic but mainly because of Ben's keys. I'm glad that they didn't release this one at that time... because the '96 release is more polished, no doubt about it. And the two instrumentals are like a zillion times better. Anyway, as I say this is an interesting release as a curiosity.

I like the 1996 release better, without a doubt. I wish they would remaster Cruelty and the Beast. A killer album with a shitty sound.

^ You're goddam right, dude. Drums sound like shit on that album (As I read in an interview with Nicholas he was very dissappointed with the sound. And consequently it was a major reason to leave the band...)
