Persefone - Guitarist Jordi Gorgues Leaves The Band
The Andorra band Persefone announced that their guitarist Jordi Gorgues is no longer in the group. He decided to leave but on good terms. At this point, the melodic death metal band hasn't announced a replacement yet. Jordi was one of the founding members of the band.
This is their statement: "Today we have some heavy heart news. After 15 years Jordi Gorgues, founder member of the band, leaves Persefone. The very first time Persefone entered a rehearsing room, there were four people, and Jordi was one of them. We have never met a human being as friendly, easygoing, professional, classy, hard worker, devoted friend and full of talent as him. We already miss him and we want to thank him for every moment we had the honor and pleasure to share with him. You were, are and will be part of this band, Jordi. Carlos, Toni, Moe, Marc, Bobby & Filipe."

And the words of Jordi: "The last 15 years have been some of the best of my life. When we started, I could never have imagined how far we would come, and it exceeded all my expectations. It has been absolutely amazing. I will always be grateful for all that I have learned and experienced within Persefone.
"Right now it's being quite hard for me to combine my job, my family and the band... Specifically the band takes a lot of time and hard work of each member, as it must be. But also my family and my job, not leaving much time for the band or none at all. Therefore the hard decision of leaving Persefone had to be made. In spite of it, I feel fulfilled and satisfied with all I have achieved with the band. Happily, now, I will be able to dedicate more time to my precious little Ainhoa and my wife Daniela.
"From now on, I will not take part in the rehearsals, recording or touring, but I will always be one of them. I'd like to express my appreciation and gratitude to all Persefone fans for their support and loyalty. I'm keeping great memories of all those moments that I lived with all of you. Thank you truly... I wish you Persefone, my friends, all the best in your future endeavors. Jordi."
