Sounds like something out of a Tim Burton movie.

Maybe they were lowballing with that single...it was not exactly exciting compared to what they've done. Hope it's better than the last two albums.

Horror metal?

Yes, because every band is their own specific genre defined by their own lyrics/imagery now.
Alestorm aren't power/folk metal, they're "pirate metal"!
Amon Amarth aren't melodeath, they're "viking metal"!
Carach Angren aren't black metal, they're "horror metal"!

I even had someone seriously tell me that Nile weren't death metal, they were "ithyphallic metal", although I assume they thought ithyphallic was just a fancy word for Egyptian, not referring to statues with erect penises.

Meh to the song, meh to the artwork and meh to how goddamn overrated this band has become. What the hell happened. They had so much potential.

No MEOW for you, gentlemen.

I could never really get into this band. They sound like musicals, and I hate musicals. Symphonic Black Disney version.

Honestly, I'm just excited there taking a new direction even the song isn't all that amazing. They've been on a slow but steady decline since their debut album, so I'm all for a reboot And I'm digging the atmosphere of this.

Kind of surprise by all the hate, I'm pretty sure the band has to be popular to be 'overrated'and unless I missed something CA have always been overshadowed by other ssympho bands like septic flesh.

From the comments above I really expected something worse. Yet nothing too exciting either : slow tempo, lacks power, I'm keeping with Lammendam. Their other albums, tho enjoyable, are not quite as good.

I like it but the biggest problem for me is that it doesn't go anywhere. Feels like that one "transitional" track that the previous album had and if that's the case it's an odd choice for a single.

I wish I could feel the same. They have some great ideas, especially in Lammendam, but they don't sound serious enough to me.

Agreed. Pitch Black Box would have to be my favourite song on the album.
