Isis - Reunite To Honor Late Cave In Bassist

The post-metal legends Isis sadly disbanded back in 2010, but they will reunite for one night only under the name Celestial (the title of their debut album) to pay tribute to Caleb Scofield, the bassist for Cave In, who died this past March in a truck crash. The benefit concert in Los Angeles will also feature performances by Cave In, Pelican and Old Man Gloom (where Scofield also played).

Celestial said their performance is just a one-off. "Caleb was a touring partner and bandmate to the individual and collective personnel of Isis," the band said in a statement. "We are profoundly saddened that Caleb is gone. His place in our lives and hearts is indelible. Caleb's loss is unquestioningly felt most deeply by the family he leaves behind: his wife Jen and children Desmond and Sydney.

"As a group we are moved to try to do something to help them, and to commemorate Caleb's life, to celebrate what he meant to us," it continued. "[For] this occasion, we are choosing to perform under the name Celestial. This event is a one-off performance to benefit Caleb's family in their time of need and to pay tribute to a person we loved and lost.
We are glad to be able to do our small part in the face of this tragedy and are looking forward to coming together to celebrate the beautiful and all too brief life of Caleb Scofield."

Tickets go on sale this Thursday 6.14 at 10am PT.

Just bought my ticket. Lucky that I was gonna be stateside in October (although it does mean I'll have to fly to and from Denver to get to the show, add another £200 onto my trip once you include transport and accom). Still, I can't believe I have a ticket to see Isis live

I watched the pro-shot stream of the show, they did absolutely amazing. I would love if they did another tour or something so I could see them, too bad I got into them long after they broke up.
