I Loved You At Your Darkest, the new album from Polish death metallers Behemoth, is due out October 5th via Metal Blade Records (North America) / Nuclear Blast (Europe). To whet the appetite even more, the band has now launched a new single and video for "Wolves Ov Siberia" (directed by Kyle Kadow and Steven Cleavland). Feast your eyes and ears on it below.

I really like it. But it's really surprising that it kind of harkens back to their first two albums before they chose to go down the route that they went with the last twenty years or so. It's also extremely straight forward for a Behemoth song which in itself isn't a bad thing, it's just...let's say, unexpected that they delve this far into the traditional Black Metal metier.

There was no death metal in that song, now that's a change.

I dont know, I thought it was pretty weak, even more than the last one they released. It sounded so watered and repetitive, not even a solo.

Edit: not to mention almost 1 minute of an interlude in the latter half of the song...

Maybe no solo but actually this interlude does a wonderful job imo !

I liked it, raw and straight, while somewhat keeping the band's trademark sound despite being more black-ish. Maybe it could have been more intrincate composition-wise, but I'm sure the album will be diverse and feature more complicated songs.

As for the solos, I like them but are not mandatory for a song to be good.

Twelve voices were shouting in anger, and they were all alike. The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.

I mean, I dont want a solo in every song, but it would compensate for the rather lackluster songwriting. The song itself is almost 3 minutes and using almost 1 whole minute of it to an interlude (a not so good one at that) feels like insult to injury.

If you hear just the part up to the chorus, that's it, the whole song there. Then it'll repeat itself one more time and a half, really weak offering overall imo

Well I like the song and don't need more than that but I expect more to make it a great album. I don't like the way Marduk opted for so short songs on their latest release.
