Esoteric - Set To Enter Studio In April

UK extreme doomsters Esoteric are set to begin recording their seventh full-length album on the 11th April at vocalist/guitarist Greg Chandler's Priory Recording Studios in Birmingham. The as yet unnamed album will be the long-awaited follow-up to 2011's Paragon Of Dissonance and is expected to be released on Season Of Mist sometime during 2019. Esoteric are anticipating completing the album in May. Stay tuned for more.

Commented by the band: "The new album, which will be 2CDs and 3LPs in length, sees a return to the heavier use of psychedelic effects and a greater variety of tempo, expanding on the sound developed since the band's inception in 1992."

Odd. That's the same projected release date as the next albums from Wormlust and Tool.

I also thought about the debut with the whole "heavier use of psychedelic effects and a greater variety of tempo". It would be a cool change of pace.
BRING IT!

Just spinning their Pernicious Enigma again gave me serious psychedelic tones ala Rain Upon The Impure and Darkspace if it were chopped and screwed especially during the lonesome quote sections where your attention is drawed in most. Combine both elements of new and old sound I really want this to be their best in all aspects possible from scope to art.

I don't care about the release date. A lot has been said above.

But I'd love to spin "The Maniacal Vale" for warm-ups whenever Esoteric announces its new edition. It's a great build-up.

Indeed, several albums appear scheduled for that release date. Curious.
