UK death metallers De Profundis are currently in the studio writing and rehearsing material for the follow-up to last year's The Blinding Light Of Faith. According to the band, the plan is to start recording their sixth full-length album later this year or in early 2020.

De Profundis posted on Facebook: "It's been a while since we've updated you lovely people about what we've been up to so here goes. Since finishing our great tour with Terrorizer & Skeletal Remains in January we've been mainly holed up at Barking Dog Studio writing the follow up to The Blinding Light Of Faith. We did enjoy a couple of live escapades in June in Brighton and then London for our 200th show supporting VLTIMAS.

"So we are now deep into album 6 with the skeleton of seven songs and a couple more songs to write. After that we will begin phase 2 where we will go through the songs with a fine tooth comb and get some pre-production demos recorded. Hopefully start recording the album later this year or early 2020. So what's our prediction for album number 6? In the words of Clubber Lang 'PAIN!'"
