Southern Lord Recordings posted on Instagram: "Extremely saddened to hear about the passing of Black Breath bassist: Elijah Nelson. Elijah was a very kind, gentle dude who completely ripped it up every time he played. He was also a legendary pinball player & I believe he may have even been a world champion! Everytime I had the pleasure of hanging with him we had a great time. Rest in Power Elijah, you will be missed immensely."
Ringworm wrote: "See you on the other side Elijah Nelson. Sad news. Ringworm sends nothing but light and love to you and yours brother. Enlightened travels in the beyond, young wizard."
Nasum said: "We are obviously saddened by the news of Elijah Nelson's passing. Black Breath were very important to Nasum during the final leg of the farewell tour. Elijah was the Cliff Burton of death metal and he will be missed."
