Sylosis - Reveal Video For Title Track Of Upcoming Album

UK’s metal machine Sylosis just unveiled the title track of their forthcoming album, A Sign Of Things To Come, due out on September 8th, 2023 via Nuclear Blast Records. The new song speaks from Josh Middleton’s position as a new father and his fears of the world that his children will one day inherit.

Josh comments: "'A Sign Of Things To Come' is a declaration of dismay towards the modern world. It’s about the anxiety of what the future holds and the feeling of division in a society where everyone is pitted against each other. This was the last song to be written for the album. It quickly became apparent that this was going to be one of the biggest, most anthemic songs on the record."

All of the released tracks have been super underwhelming, and this one kills any anticipation I had for this album. Bummer

I'm not going to listen to any further singles until the album comes out, partly because I don't want to drag out the pain if they continue to underwhelm, but your comment is kinda what I expected

On the flip side, a band that my band played a gig with last year, Kinzoku, just uploaded a song today that very effectively replicates the mid-2010s sound of Sylosis, so if they continue in a similar vein, perhaps they can fill the void that Sylosis seem to be gradually leaving

Underwhelming compared to everything they did until Dormant Heart, sure, but still better than most of what was in Cycle of Suffering. And yeah, still enjoyable.

Thanks for sharing that. They literally sound like a clone of Sylosis' best era, but I'm not complaining - rather I'm looking for the pre-save button!

Agree with this, DH was the band already on their way down, but CoS was the last nail in the coffin for the band in my eyes. This song brings a little hope that I'll enjoy the upcoming release.

I thought the song was quite good.

I agree with above consensus though that the fact that it is Sylosis sounding like this results in it still being a disappointment.
