Graspop Metal Meeting 2009 - First Bands Confirmed
Finally! The Graspop Metal Meeting organization have announced the first 25 bands for Belgium's biggest open air metal festival, set to take place on 26, 27 and 28 June 2009 at Dessel. Here are the first 25 names for GMM 2009:
Heaven And Hell, Disturbed, Volbeat, Papa Roach, Blind Guardian, Anthrax, Trivium, Sacred Reich, W.A.S.P., DevilDriver, Epica, Legion Of The Damned, Parkway Drive, God Forbid, Kataklysm, Firewind, Lääz Rockit, Keep Of Kalessin, Scar Symmetry, Samael, Dagoba, Negură Bunget, Taake, ETHS and Wolves In The Throne Room.
More names and the 3 headliners for the 24th edition of the festival will be announced shortly. All info in http://www.graspop.be and http://www.myspace.com/graspop. A first flyer can be found here.

Written by corrupt on 05.01.2009 at 13:07 People just don't realize that bands like this are a perfect (and welcome) occasion to take a desired toilet, beer and/or snack-break. Besides, there are FOUR stages on Graspop, so you aren't even obliged to sit through a Papa Roach performance as it's simply impossible to see all bands play (I mean their whole set). In other words: just don't see them, have a beer instead, still manage to see all your favourite bands = win. On a side note, this will be the third time already Papa Roach will play GMM, nothing disturbing about it.

Why would you like to go there when you can all go at Hellfest with a really better general ambiance with better bands (plus also Anthrax, Heaven & Hell, Manowar etc...) in a "human sized" place?  Go to Hellfest God damn!

Papa Roach and Parkway Drive <3 Honestly, I wouldn't mind going there at all, but Hellfest would be a lot better. But well, I already have tickets for Sweden Rock Festival (Dream Theater, Marillion, Uriah Heep...)

Thats a go go for me! Heaven and Hell alone is good enough to go! Legion of the damned and kataklysm are worth the ticket even more, already a very good line up. It can only get better
