What was the first metal album you have ever bought/gotten. Write a litte story on how you got it too ,please.

For me it prolly was Iron Maiden's first one. My dad took me to the metalshop and handed me this record, "Here kid, this is for you." And I put it in the car's cd player and skipped to Running Free because my dad said it was the best track. My jaw dropped.

Alice Cooper - Dragontown

for price comparable to only 3 euro or so, so i suddenly decided, that buying real albums may be good...although i had absolutely no idea what to expect from Alice's album from 2001, i bought it and damn, i wasnt disappointed so this is how it stared back in December 2008...before that i was only downloading albums

Haha Guns and Roses (Appetite for Destruction) and Rage Against the Machine Self titled in 1993 when I was 13... I was in Kmart with my mum and I found the CD's, pulled off the parental warning stickers, and there were my parent's migranes for the next 2 years...

When i was 13 i listened to czech rock band Kabát and my mum was quite sad about that...not talking about my age of 15, when a friend of mine burned SKA-P (spanish ska-punk) cd for me...but when parents saw i am really into "harder" music, problems and argues vanished

I can't conclusively put my finger on this, but i think the first metal album i ever listened to from start to finish is probably Seventh Son of a Seventh Son. needless to say what my opinion was/is haha.

My first album ever was blink 182's Take Off Your Pants and Jacket. I didn't use to listen to music that much until then, just some radio shit. I got this ripped from my cousin. It somewhat helped me to shape my taste in a rockish direction so when I got my first metal album from a friend when I was 14, I liked it a ridiculous lot. That album was Kill'em All.

Back when I was 7, my atep brother (7 years older) showed me some metal bands. I loved Rhapsody, they sounded unique to my way-too-young ears. I always listened to them during those days and my brother gave me some tapes. When I didn't live with him anymore I didn't have any source of metal and didn't listen to music for like 2-3 years. Then I decided that I had to start over again on my own. So I saved a lot of money [a lot for me when I was 12] and wanted to buy a cd.... I didn't really know what I was going to buy but when I saw the Rhapsody logo I was like "Yes!" and Bought Symphony of Enchanted Lands II.

Rhapsody means a lot for me and I highly respect them, but I don't listen to them anymore.

First ever Rock album I've ever listened to was Pink Floyd's Final Cut (or maybe it was Ummagumma)..
And the first ever Metal album I listened to was Sepultura's Roots.. It was the first album I've ever listened. Before that there was some other Rock/Metal videos I'd watched. Marilyn Manson, Nirvana, Moonspell and Pantera were those bands I remember..

The first album I ever bought myself with my paper route money at the ripe old age of ten was Meet the Beatles along with the K-Tel compilation Rock '80. In my defense, the K-Tel album did contain Rush's "The Spirit of Radio" (though I really got it for The Knack's "My Sharona").

I'm not completely certain on this, but I believe the first metal album I bought was Judas Priest's Defenders of the Faith. Though Metal for Breakfast may have come before it.

Back in 1990, I was in early 10th grade if i remember right, I bought my first 2 cassettes, Iron Maiden's No Prayer for the Dying and a compilation of Black Sabbath with Ozzy. Loved the both a lot back then, metal was something new for me then, and after i got some more Maiden music, became my favourite band for a while - IM is still one of my favourite bands.
