Who is a better band in your opinion? I myself prefer Death, as they have better songs/albums and such (Symbolic, Human etc.) which i think are incredible. Sepultura im not a big fan of, and some of their songs are pretty bad. Whats your opinion?

Well this is not pointless pool, because Sepulture has been true style changes, but death played all albums same style, ok lil changed but still, I like Sepultura in 80's era, but death all albums so . Death

I was never a big Sepultura fan. So, this is a no-brainer for me. Death. I am a big fan of Death's albums.

But why are we comparing these two bands? what is the basis?

I just really dislike deaths vocals and the music just doesnt sound very good.

I posted on the first post why i opened this poll. If you honestly think its just a waste of space feel free to delete it.

Sepultura have released 3 awesome albums (Beneath the remains, Arise and Chaos AD), 1 decent album (Schizophrenia), 1 album which is innovative but musically uninspired (Roots) and a great - unfortunately - number of tragic records including all their releases after Max left the band as well as their debut EP and LP. On the contrary Death are the absolute fathers of Death Metal- though Possessed fans won't agree with me - and they were evolving their sound from work to work. I find no dilemma in this question

Death are amazing. Also are MetalFist and fists of metal similar names? Especially since bother are around the same age and both from australia. Probably just coincidence i guess

Its hard to decide coz they're both great bands, and also coz they play different genres of metal.. however, if post-max sepultura is included then i'd definitely go for death... i only liked sepultura when max in it.

yeah its ok. But thats 1 of the worst songs, and its just a cover. Not one of their own, you cant judge a band by its cover. (wham, nice use a pun right there).

Its the ONLY cover death did, coz they're an original band who dont play covers, but i watched in an interview that chuck wanted to do a cover version of his favorite songs in his last album (before he dies), so that explains why they made a cover song. and it's not among the worst, its as good as the judas priest version.

Well, yeah i spose its quite good, but not as good as judas's one. They have much better songs written themselves which are epic.

Actually Death also covered KISS's Thunder God. It's included in the Japanese edition of Human.

I'll say i prefer Sepultura, one of the first metal bands I ever listened to, but Death is by far a much better band.

I gotta go with Death. While I prefer a few Sepultura albums to anything Death has done, Death is much more consistent and I enjoy every album they have made.

while i really like both ends of the Death spectrum (well, at least through Symbolic), i cannot say the same about Sepultura. They had some songs I really liked, but lost me around the time of Roots. Also seemed to have a lot more "filler" that felt like filler tracks. Some of the highs were on par with some of Death's highs... but the lows were much much lower. And that was before members started jumping ship.

so Death.

Death. Their material was always consistently good. They never released an album that Id class as anything less than decent. Sepultura on the other hand, after Chaos AD, have released a few average ones, and even one awful album. So Death, for me. xD

Never really got into Sepultura, so, Death for me.

I choose Death, they had better musicianship, consistency, more depth, and more imagination. Where as Sepultura was basically civil war and tribal dances. Sepultura has 2 classic albums at most (BTR and Arise) where as EVERY Death album is a masterpiece (and yes that includes Spiritual Healing).

Sepultura is kinda hard for me to get into. Even their old stuff hasn't really caught my interest yet.

Death on the other hand are fucking awesome.

Kind of weird bands to compare but really there isn't much competition. Death by FAR. Although BTR is pretty sick for thrash, Death's Leprosy is just as aggressive, but more complex, not to mention Death has other great albums outside of that gem.

I'm more into Death: Not one bad album. I like their earlier works more though.

I liked Sepultura 'till Arise, after that it went downhill. Hell,I even liked Bestial Devastation and Morbid Visions!

Overall it's Death for me.

Too hard to decide because their genres are completely different and both are bands of my liking. In this case I can't compare them and choose just one. I listen to them for completely different reasons.
