Which is your favourite band mixing Black and Doom Metal???

Katatonia: Never been among my favourite bands, but I recognize their quality and influence... I still find a few songs like "Gateways Of Bereavement" or "Brave", and they surely knew how to create extremely painful, dark atmospheres.

Worship: Funeral Doom/Black as its best... the "Last CD Before Doomsday" had became a classic among classics, being very depressive, harsh and underdeveloped.

Dolorian: I only gor into them with their last album "Voidwards", which is freakin' amazing, like a dreamful passage to a inner state of mind. Bewitching music.

Bethlehem: Very fucked-off band, with sick vocals and a chainsaw-like atmosphere... "Dictius Te Necare" is a wonderful album.

Forgotten Tomb: Just like Katatonia, this band needs no introduction... I am re-discovering them by now, as I used to like them a lot but them left them behind for such a while... Now Playing: "Songs To Leave".

Deinonychus: More Doom than anything, but their earlier releases keep still an amazing blackened ambience. "The Silence Of December" is wonderful album, although one get's tired of the vocals after a while (just like happens with Bethlehem, band that shares vocalist with Deinonychus).

Forgotten Woods: A buried, undiscovered Nowegian jewel. Very raw and painful, I hadn't listened to them a lot but enough to realize that they deserve to be in this poll...

My personal vote goes for Worship, a band that had written the soundtrack for very important times of my life, and which I enjoy a lot every time.

Does Agalloch count? I don't know much about this genre nor do I really like it, but Agalloch is probably my favorite doom band.

Well, it's debatable if Agalloch counts or not... I probably think it does, their last album is 100% Black/Doom, but it's weird: Blackers say they're not Black and Doomsters say they're not Doom.... I prefered to put only "official" Black/Doom bands...

Not really my type of genre, but from the list Dolorian, easily. They create a desolation unseen anywhere else on their album 'When All The Laughter Has Gone.' Pretty powerful stuff. I do however like older Katatonia and Bethlehem. The rest I am really indifferent about.

you count worship as black/doom ? interesting. I voted for katatonia, as I really love DODS, no album tops that in my eyes. Bethlehem would have been my second option, as I used to listen to them a lot. they're just awsome, although understanding the words sometimes bothers me.

Nortt is the black/doom band I also enjoy, and lately it's all I listen when it comes to doom. this band is very overlooked, although it's one of the best doom bands of today.

Worship are obviously Black/Doom...

Deinonychus - i can say one of best Netherland bands and so amazing so great and so uniqua and poetical and I had hear all albums but moust i like ''The Weeping of a Thousand Years'' and well thay remaidns me in leithest stuff Pantheist

Forgotten Woods - As the Wolves Gather, I know only this I feel wolwes, coldness, winter, and snow near when I lsiten it great band

Mna you forgot Ivo Iljev too bands Darklfight and Dreamflight thaya re from plivdiv Bulgari and play black/doom metal, so great and amazing

December Dawn - thay sound slike Kataoni and are so real and great band

Also I remebe ronme turkisg band Deathwisg, thay had one demo and I ahd one song instrumental but great

Lacrimae Mortalium - haha great Canadian abnd but hard to get demo, in they home page it was for free some time ago

K7 Worship is a cult band. tey released only one demo, and some splits, but they managed to be one of the most talked about band in the underground.

haha I know I check them, but i hawnt hear them and well there are a lot of awsome DOOM bands whit one demo and soem splits

although I don't consider Woods Of Belial to be either Black or Doom Metal... they're very dark, slow and haunting music, but they some weird electronic hybrid that I don't think would fit very well in this poll.

Well I jsut rcomend those bands what i had hear and there was 3-4 more, but I can notvremeber, but i hant hear from those bands full album only some songs

I think that Dolorian are the best out of the aforementioned bands.. they are so amazing especially the last album.. but also dont lose attention to forgotten tomb or worship those bands are a major columns on this genre!

For me it was between old Katatonia and Bethlehem. Went for Bethlehem more because I just got into them recently while have heard Katatonia stuff from those days. I quite like Forgotten Tomb to an extent and Deinonychus as well but personally Prefer Katatonia and Bethlehem to the lot in this poll. I haven't heard Worship though..

I love the vocals in Bethlehem but in the longrun I find it boring. Dolarian is great but for the the winner in this poll is without doubt Katatonia. Dance of December Souls forever.

Nortt would be a great addition to this poll though. But Katatonia would still be the winner for me!

I really don't listen to any bands on that list apart from Worship and Bethlehem wich are decent. But Nortt gets my vote.

Dark Metal is a classic. Although this band's time is over.

Worship is Funeral Doom. No need for extra sub-genres to stick at. I think Worship's music fits in the Funeral Doom borders nicely. I don't see a problem. Why make things more complicated? But this is going off-topic. Sorry.

I voted Dolorian. Sure, it isn't the best example of Black and Doom combination but they sure are original and they have the most potential.

A good Black-influenced band that is not on the list, is Nortt, which combines Funeral Doom with Black Metal quite impressively.

I agree with the fact that they were better earlier and Dark Metal is probably the best albums they released, but their new stuff is not too bad either although they change it up a lot from their earlier stuff..

Dark Metal is very unique and all the other albums are as well though. They are not the type of band that plays the same music in every release. Still I agree with what all u guys say.

Anyway Old Katatonia was such a good band. Specially Dance of December Souls.

Yep, most bands just seem to get worse over time. Their earlier stuff is so much better. Many bands even state that they are going to lose some fans before releasing another album. I guess Sentenced is ok that way. Even Bethlehem's newest release is nothing much compared to their older albums.

I agree that Bethlehem have moved on a bit too much in their new releaese. I agree about Nortt. I have Ligfærd at home and its terrific as far as I'm concerned. Pity it wasn't on the poll.
