Nightwish - Re-Sign With Nuclear Blast

Official press release

Nuclear Blast Records is proud to announce that the Finnish metal heroes Nightwish have signed a new record deal with the German based label.

The next big project will be the release of the new Nightwish record Imaginarium, which will be released by the end of this year, in December 2011.

Bandleader Tuomas Holopainen comments: "We are very happy to continue working with the Nuclear Bast - family! Our collaboration started on a friendship basis and continues to do so. I was utterly happy and relieved to see they truly understood what Imaginarium is all about, and we seem to share similar profound enthusiasm towards it. I feel privileged working with such people who, despite the infinite maze of business they must handle properly, still have a huge heart for Music itself."

Andy Siry, Head of A&R and Label Manager of Nuclear Blast adds: "We are very happy that Nightwish and Nuclear Blast Records can continue as a team. Nightwish became the biggest success of our label and everyone in the band, their management and crew also became trustful and close friends. For us, it is a pleasure to work with such highly gifted musicians and a genius like Tuomas Holopainen, as a songwriter and composer. We also thank KingFoo Management for their believe and the great relationship between all of us. We are looking forward to the next releases with the band, starting with the upcoming masterpiece Imaginarium, which is another big step for this visionary band, which is simply outstanding and brilliant."

Well, it's nice of them to release the album before the movie.

If Nuclear Blast respect Nightwish and Holopainen so much, then maybe this time they won't suggest leaving good songs off their album in order to make room for commercial singles. As for "Imaginarium", I confess that I am only mildly excited about it and it makes me feel kind of guilty, since they are an amazing band and have created some of the best music I've ever heard. Maybe it is the long wait that has made me indifferent, then again a lot of long waits result in artistically fantastic...err...results.

Seriously? Nuclear Blast parted ways with them in order to avoid the bad media coverage of them getting the new singer. And now they are back to work with them after Dark Passion Play's success. Bastards, they are. That is what I think. >.<

Well, Tarja was only a vocalist. A mediocre vocalist, under classical standards. The voice has changed, but much of everything else is still there.

I agree 100% with AlexaderDineseen. Personally, I think that since Tarja has left the band nothing good was produced either by Nightwish or by Tarja.

This is unreal that people are still bringing up the Tarja-issue even after 6 years have passed. Besides, when people who usually don't listen to metal, have always thought that mixing classical vocals with rock was ridiculous/sounded bad and now say that Anette's vocals suit the music better then this opinion comes from a lot more neutral source than from die hard Tarja fans for whom Nightwish was "Tarja's band"...

Great to see we are getting close to a release of this album, Tuomas & Nightwish It's been quite a long period of hype and curiosity, and I'm ready to finally check out what they've been hyping up for so long!

I just hope Annette's performing will be still better (in fact she has stated that will improve this time better than Dark Passion Play, that is in my humble opìnion an excellent album).

It really is impossible to have any sort of public comment forum about Nightwish without...

"omg Nightwish suk I mean Bye Bye Beautiful wtf is that shit, Tarja rawks Anette sux!!!"

And then the argument between people who just can't listen to new Nightwish without spontaneously combusting and those who still see talent and originality and lust after Tuomas' hot slender Finnish bod so they'll listen to anything he does even if it's singing in the shower, hopefully with video footage.

What?

Still this Tarja talk ? Buddy, get over it. Jesus!

Nightwish with Tarja were great, yes, but come on, enough is enough. Move on!

I also wish they had chosen a singer similar to Tarja vocals (like the girl from D.S.O.) but they didn't and I still love the band.

Embrace change!
