First.

The fuck, man, take some more time to write an album not as derivative as Darkly, Darkly....

Tru dat. Slipped my mind while I was bitching.
Seriously though, if my favorite band disappoint me one more time, I'll die a broken man.
Or maybe I'll have your big, juicy boobs to make me feel better, Tory.

Unless I see "Rodrigo wuz here" tattooed on Tory's sweet ass, she most certainly isn't yours.

They are releasing no more hurriedly than they have in the past, save for the necessary three years between Midian and Damnation and a Day due to the orchestration involved in the latter.
Besides that one special exception, Cradle' have always released their albums in a two year span. Darkly, Darkly Venus Aversa came out in 2010, therefore 2012 is a normal release date for the next chapter of their almost 20-year journey.

Exactly, the "it's too early to be good" argument isn't at all relevent. Remember Shitography was released two years before the brilliant Godspeed. And this time the step isn't as high : "Darkly, Darkly" is a great COF album in my opinion.

Indeed they have, but nowhere was the lack of inspiration more evident than on Darkly, Darkly.
Thornography, as shitty as it was, still showed Cradle had some ideas and at least tried to somehow make the record different from the rest. They failed and created a piece of shit in the process, but that's irrelevant in to my point.

Darkly, Darkly is utterly derivative and shows Cradle's idea pool has completely dried up. Basically, it sounds as if it were made by a strict pattern. And I don't think 2 years is enough solve that problem.

What do they care though, as long as they stay Hot Topic's #1 band, their shit will sell and they will convince themselves it's because they created a masterpiece.
I'm not expecting anything remotely good as the first 3 albums, nor even something like Damnation and A Day. But shit, they could release something that doesn't sound almost exactly like every other fucking pseudo-black symphonic band.

Can't wait. Darkly was a great album (imo), so was godspeed, why should this be crap?

It's ok some people don't like, like everything from cof.

I really think they don't give a f*** about it.

I'm kinda psyched for this orchestral album, but then again I am a huge CoF fanboy. Although I wished they would have included "singing" on it, the stuff I've heard so far is really beautiful.

So you want them to cover there older material to sound like their newer songs? To be honest I always wanted to hear a re-re-recording of "Forest Whispers my Name" during the Damnation and a Day era, but now...ugh. Please Cradle, don't tough your legacy, your clearly not capable of understanding it anymore. Better yet just use symphonic bullshit, its intriguing and half-assed. Fans will fap in shame to it.

From the opinions I read above it seems totally useless that I give this "album" a try. Still like (or sometimes even love) most CoF releases. Will wait for their next true album.

Actually the Joe-people dream of £££. But, no I wasn't referring to money. What I try to clarify here is the thing that the band has been symphonic for the most part of their career, which is why it's almost logical for them to consider releasing something like this metal-stripped release is. Now it's done.

lol I almost wrote £££ but was too lazy to search it on my keyboard. I could have agreed with you had this album been realized in collaboration with a real orchestra... But the songs sound like pompous synth-generated caricatures of what CoF was in their most glorious days, thus it's hard to believe this is the result of some trancending artistic journey. Had it been the case, the band in my opinion would have taken more time, gathered more money and maybe even written down new tracks for the project.

These guys bit off way more than they could chew. This is a sad attempt at trying to create their own "film score" with a completely orchestral/spoken word album.
