Recorded February / March and June 1982 at Dierks Studios, Cologne / Germany.
Mastered at C.B.S.
Herman Frank is credited with playing on the album but all guitars were recorded by Wolf Hoffmann before he joined the band.

German label Brain Records released the album in October 1982, but its U.S., U.K. and Canadian release was delayed until March 1983. It was even released in some parts of Europe in 1983.

The American version has a different cover, which is a photograph of the band in concert. The cover shown on the right (which depicts of an image of two guitars on fire) is the original.

Accept are back after their 1981 release Breaker, this time with a far more mature and highly influential album. It is an undeniable classic, although slightly flawed when viewed as a whole, something which I will explain later. The sound you should expect here would be a typical 80s production: prominent guitars and vocals; difficult to hear bass; a few samples; and some quirky, stringent, clean-electric and acoustic guitar passages here and there.

They were breaking new grounds here with Fast as a Shark, I can't imagine anything was this fast and aggressive in 1982. And still to this day it's one of the best speed metal songs recorded, and to think that's not even the best song here is quite impressive, I prefer the slower melodic songs Neon Nights and Princess of the Dawn. Among the other songs there's some not as good but also some decent rockers in Restless and Wild and Ahead of the Pack. Fun album, still holds up to this day.
