Pretty show I've heard them on liquid metal station a few. Their not that big but for a rock/metal band their pretty big and well known. More known then most.
Big enough to get a concert movie released here, but still no radio play. You'd think Tripple M (rock station) or Tripple J (youth station) would play some
I saw them here in Linköping back when they had just released the second album and "changed Pope" on stage for the first time. Wouldn't have believed they'd get this big if someone had told me then

As everyone knows, I'm a huge power metal fan. I've heard quite a bit of power metal so far this year and on reflection I would have to say this is the genre's strongest output of the last 6 months. Rip-roaring melodies that soar higher than the stars, achingly beautiful leads and harmonies betwixt Mories' exceptional vocal range and adeptness with the keyboard.

Definitely has a De Magia Veterum vibe, specially in the riffing and because it does feel with more structure than usual.
But damn, I don't know how Mories does it. I own three GTT and two DMV albums and listen to his stuff regularly and STILL every new release of his (well, technically this one isn't new) blows my mind.

This makes me feel uncomfortable in a very comforting way. Disgustingly forward-thinking black metal that challenges the listener with layers of filth and regurgitated fecal matter.

I wonder if this counts as awards material though, considered how it has only been released now but in fact this abum is hella old (well... 3-4 years).

If it's unreleased then I'm pretty sure it should be counted when first released, i.e. now. I'm sure lots of albums are written and recorded one year then released the next. Songs could be written with years apart before seeing a release etc.

What Joe said. It was never released until this year, so it's eligible for this year's awards. Just like any other album that was written/recorded but unreleased until a certain year.

That's great then. It's not like I was against it, hell no... glad to see that maybe one of Morie's projects will be in the awards this year as well.

Of course it's eligible, just check the black metal nominations for 2005 and you'll see Krieg - Sono Lo Scherno nominated there. That album was originally recorded in 1998 but only released in 2005.

Dragons and unicorns have never sounded so good.
Fuck you, Joe, I was really expecting some power metal here.... >_<

You can't blame me as I put a hidden message in the staff pick (Mr. Doctor took 1 hour 22 minutes before he saw it though, and then only with a bunch of clues. By comparison Azoic figured it out in about a minute flat).

I'm torn between thinking the message is either word-play or some kind of first-letter-of-each-word thingy.
I got it. A sucker I am indeed. xD
How did you do that?
Wow, you totally owned Rod then.
Print screened the page then used photoshop to blotter the area where the text needed to be to get the HTML colour code, then just used that code on the text to make it the same colour as the background Doesn't work as well on this page as the background is a slightly different colour.
Jokes aside, that linked track is seriously good. A little more accessible than the stuff I've heard from him before, maybe. As in, very straightforward.

Yeah, like it has been pointed out before, it's similar to what he has been doing in De Magia Veterum which is a far more straightforward (but still very unique) take on black metal.
I'm all going to whore myself and make publicity to the thread I just made for his projects, I put 4 tracks one for each of the projects I know. I case you haven't checked out De Magia Veterum I highly recommend it if you wanted something a bit more accessible but still keeping the level of fucked-up-ness.
