Drag Ropes is one of the best neo-psychodelic tracks I ever heard.

Though it felt empty at times I still found this very listenable.

Drag Ropes is one of the best neo-psychodelic tracks I ever heard.

It was really good, and the music video they put out for it compliments it perfectly.

I think this is as high as a seven can be. Really enjoyable but I grew tired of it rather quickly.

Ok, man, I take my words back, this is equal to Bewitched. It certainly has some atmospheric feeling to it. Furthermore, the shit is really original, I can't say I've seen anything like that before in music videos.

This album is simply b.o.r.i.n.g.

Gimme Dark Suns latest or Astra because this is just piss.

Haters gonna hate...Lovers gonna love. That's what Storm Corrosion is all about.

perfect that's all i can say,best of 2012 no doubt , but it seems like haters are more than the lovers here

The more I listen to it, the more brilliant it appears to be. I gave this an 8 because I thought it was awesome, but it might be worthy of a 9, so I had to change my rating. Not a high nine, a low nine, but a nine nontheless.

It think this is a "unsolved masterpiece"! \m/ hail Akerfeldt and Wilson, two of the most talented Prog musicians of all times!

So this band have finally been added to MS.

Well to be honest the album at first didn't really impress me that well, but with more frequent listens I did manage to get to grips with what is actually going on. However, for all the good moments that can be found on 'Drag Ropes' and 'Hag', the mediocrity of 'Happy' and 'Lock Howl' stop the album from becoming a true masterpiece.

This album is beautiful, parts of the last song reminds me of "Close to the Edge" by Yes. Definitely going in my Top 10 for this year.

Actually a totally mediocre album , especially seeing who's involved and the way they they are revered, thi s proces those people aren't that good at all, and are totally sleep inducing.

Well actually Akerfeldt can be really good when he is not meddled with in his own affaris but Steven Wilson kills everything off he is involved with...

Not what you might have expected and not as great as "Damnation" but a very good album.
It has its own world.

I usually like albums made by either artists. Because there is so much to discover, and it takes a bit of time to take it all in. This, however, was very uninteresting to me. Very disappointing coming from these two pinnacles in their category. Not nearly enough in there to validate repeated listening.

Drag Ropes is brilliant. Atmosphere done right and actually tells a story...no need for lyrics to understand.

I just don't get it...Mikael & Steven have done something amazing which has a reminiscence of their previous works for their respective bands and have experimented successfully to give us something unique which shouldn't be compared their previous works...This album is an outstanding piece of work..!!!

Just because it isn't metal don't discard a record.

Not sure if you meant that this bears stylistic similarities to that album or, rather, can be compared to the quality of said record, but this doesn't sound remotely like Heritage

I meant that akerfeldt should have continued his prog rock fantasies with storm corrosion, or another band, i dont know. Even though I appreciate last 2 albums. I miss the old "prog death metal" days of opeth but mikael is doing what he wants, there is nothing to say i guess

Yes, I know how the rating system works , that's not the point. The point is if "Pale Communion" was made by another band the rating (a mean of all the voters) would be higher.

Pale Communion would've been boring and low rated no matter what band made it.
