I don't understand the hate. Srsly, this band has been putting out great albums since the very beginning, the only letdown was Night is the New Day, and even here they wrote some great songs. I think people hate for no reason at all. Who in his right mind can say that Dead End Kings is a bad album??

I love katatonia, BMD is a great album, and viva emptiness is one of my all time favorites. I really don't see why I should not be able to have opinion on katatonia.
Everything after tGCD has been a disappointment, and that remix was one of the most hideously stupid thing I have seen a band doing to their legacy.

Some people love it, some people hate it? Now that's an intriguing reaction towards a band
Perhaps I should check those newer works out

The posts here are absolutely ridiculous. I completely agree that they've been producing nothing but crap since TGCD, but why should any of you give a damn about whether they write more? They're clearly making thousands of people happy whist making a living - what's wrong with that? From their perspective, they have no reason to quit.

It's fine to say you're not looking forward to the new album or even to say you hate what the band has become, but why say they should stop recording?

Ah I see many people getting mad at me because I said this band should stop recording. I definitely speak for my own taste. Saying that a band is better to stop recording new material is no different than saying that a band should, for example, have a new record similar to their previous ones. Of course the band members do not give a fuck about my opinion, but when you publish you music at large scale, you should be ready to hear some negative opinions also.

They're many people who hate "good albums"(from that I mean majority swings in favour of well produced album") and you really can't justify their viewpoint. Simply, we bark on them calling "average" and "earless walking moron".

If band is making thousands of happy and making a good living out of it - go ahead and record albums with no fucking doubt.

Same on roaster is Cannibal Corpse , Slayer, Municipal Waste, Motorhead or Metallica - we bash the fuck out of it. But, in right frame of mind will that be legit if we adhere them from creativity?

Not at all. The first path puts their career and the enjoyment of thousands of fans at an end. The second path doesn't affect either. Assuming they took this advice, which I doubt they would.
