Machine Head - Stream New Single

Machine Head have recorded a new standalone song for an upcoming single titled "Is There Anybody Out There?". The song is currently available for streaming here and is being released digitally this Friday, 3rd of June 2016.

Robb Flyn has the following to say about the song: "The song is about love, loneliness, racism, and not getting what is going on in the world, or America. It's very much about current events, but it applies to a bigger picture."

The lyrics for "Is There Anybody Out There?" have also been provided:

I was born as a bastard, no father, no master,
A shadow in silence left searching for answers
Put up for adoption and left with no option
Another kid fostered to fester forgotten
Take a look into these desperate eyes
As they're cast into the wretched hive
But I ain't going down alone
Is there anybody out there?
Anybody listening to me?
Is anybody else scared?
The paranoia, drops me to my knees
Does anybody feel lonely?
Disconnected from the things I see
Is there anybody out there?
Anybody out there just like me?
I'm choking on these words and I can't breathe
Now I stand as a father, to men with no honor
Ashamed of the racists I used to call brothers
Cause no flag can mean bravery,
when bloodied by slavery,
The rebel, a devil, disguised as a savior
And the sickening feeling in the air
Is the fear to speak that no one dares
So will I stand here all alone?
Live my life like I'll die tonight
Dream like I'll live forever
I have roared at the world for years
Doesn't anybody hear me?
This burden suffered, I've paid the cost
Not all who wander are lost

It seems like this was written in a spur of the moment without much thought, it's disappointing since we know what Machine Head are capable of.

Jeez, Bloodstone & Diamonds was bad but this is utterly dreadful. Thought metal like this had begun to die out. I don't really listen to the likes of The Blackening or Unto The Locust music before but that stuff is still leagues ahead of the last album and this song

"Is there anybody out there?"

Just nod if you can hear me.. is there anyone at home?

I agree with the WWE theme style. Maybe this will be the marketed song for SummerSlam this year

I'm a big Machine Head fan (I even like The Burning Red, it was solid nu-metal. Supercharger was awful though) and this is bad. The country-rock sounding intro is godawful and then it morphs into a super, super generic repetitive anthemic radio metal song. It sounds like something that would be on one of Asking Alexandria's latest albums. Except even AA do it better. How did Robb and friends go from some of the best songs of their entire career (Eyes of the Dead, Night of Long Knives, Now We Die) to THIS?

Is there anybody out there, who listens to this crap?

Not surprised this song was also a let down after there last two unforgettable releases. Burn My Eyes, The More Things Change & The Blackening are great albums but anything else is just weak as piss, seems to be a step back into nu metal poop! But I am sure the majority of MH fans will lap it up & say "its killer" or shit like that!

Cringing at the "come on" parts during the track!

Agreed ! I came to listen to Machine Head ages ago when they released Burn My Eyes which still stands as a f*cking amazing first album ! One of the best ever heard. But now when I try to listen to them I just cannot feel any of the passion I used to have for them... Guess that time changes :/ Btw I saw them live some months ago and while they performed a good show, most of the recent songs were just so meeh...

So I listened to The Blackening for the first time, and well, it was alright. But this? Ahahahaha. Ahahahahaha. Wow. How could they have deteriorated so bad at writing songs? I have no idea.

I was about to correct Marcel's grammar but he's the one grumpy dude in MS. No hate, Marcel, I like your input on things <3

It definitely should be:

Robb's music is as interesting as the social justice ramblings he keeps crapping out on a regular basis. The Metal community should just shut this guy out.
