Saw Marillion at a local festival 3 years ago and enjoyed their set, but never bothered to explore their studio music. The title track was truly delightful, and I enjoyed King as well; the rest of the album's good but not sure it matches up to what I've heard from Fish-era Marillion.

Afraid Of Sunlight is somehow my favorite Marillion song, both lyrically and musically. Given that I much prefer Fish-era Marillion overall, it feels strange to say this. But that song truly is magic.

"All your spirit rack abuses
Come to haunt you back by day
All your Byzantine excuses
Given time, give you away

Don't be surprised when daylight comes
To find that memory prick your thumbs
You'll tell them where we run to hide
I'm already dead
It's a matter of time"

Just pure magic. It doesn't get better than that.

A ton of great songs in the Hogarth era, it deserves to be explored properly, even their weakest releases have some hidden gems (Radiation, marillion.com, Somewhere else). I say "weakest" but none of them are bad.

I quite enjoy the Hogarth era, actually.
