Judas Priest - Will Continue Touring As A Four-Piece
Legendary Birmingham metallers Judas Priest have revealed that they will continue their 50th anniversary world touring as a four-piece, without guitarist Andy Sneap, who has been performing live with the band for the last couple of years.
Band comments: ''Hello Maniacs! We are chomping at the British Steel bit to return to World touring… celebrating 50 Years of Judas Priest as an even more powerful, relentless four piece Heavy Metal band - with Glenn coming out on stage with us here and there as before! Big thanks to Andy for all you've done and continuing to be in the production team for our new album... See you all soon headbangers!''
Statement from Andy as follows: "Rob called me last Monday and said they wanted to move on as a four-piece, which I find incredibly disappointing after this amount of time but I respect his decision as they obviously have a vision how they want this to play out.
"This always was a temporary situation, and like I've said before, I'll always help the band any way I can, and that applies going forward also.
"I've been a huge fan of the band since the early '80s and it was mind-blowing to play onstage with the guys and quite frankly terrifying in the beginning at such short notice.
"We are moving forward with the new album next month and look forward to making a killer follow-up to Firepower".

When I think of Priest, I'm thinking of twin guitar melodies in the first place. This news just sounds so odd to me, I can't imagine Priest without it.

Unless Rob is good guitarist, it won't work, one guitar can not do sound specially live, how they will play solos and so on. All their songs gas 2 guitars

They will most likely use samples for the missing guitar parts, which I don't mind honestly. They are already using them for keyboard / backing vocals live and so do many, many bands nowadays, which I used to hate but now accept. Glenn will pop up when he is feeling good like during the past tours. From a sound point of view I expect little will change.

Rob took it super personally (Glenn has Parkinson's and still plays and records ffs) and dismantled his claims. KK was being a bitch, plain and simple. there is a lot of unnecessary drama there caused by KK and the other guys are under no obligation to take his shit. he has his own band now and, bitching or not, I hope they will tour Europe soon so we can again after 20 years hear a band with "Priest" in its name play some of the Ripper era songs live. in any case I am glad they reversed the decision, I am sure they would have managed as a 4-piece but Andy is a killer guitarist, a fantastic producer and his contribution is more than welcome.
